Bed wetting as kid - kind of diapers

For those that use to wet the bed as a child: What kind of diapers did you wear? I can see a lot of pull ups for teenagers, but the type with tapes (slip) also exist.

Did you also have a special routine when putting the diaper on of off?

I wore goodnites and/or depends with tapes. An hour or two before bed I would be bathed or at least wiped down and then told to go to my room and lay on my changing table. I would wait there naked until stepmom came in to change me. I wore 24/7 though.

I was only made to wear a diaper once when I was 7 when we were attending a family reunion. This was an all-in-one cloth diaper that had a plastic backing and snapped at the waist. After that I just had to suffer waking up soaking wet on most days, including embarrassing situations when we visited other family. This was long before most disposables and certainly before any disposable youth or adult products. When I was around 12-13 I noticed that the Sears Catalog had cloth adult diapers and plastic pants. I started looking at these so much that the catalog started falling open to that page. I saw my Mom looking at them one day and felt sure she would talk to me about wearing as my bedwetting continued several nights a week. Sadly she never brought it up and I was never brave enough to initiate the conversation.

I wore cloth diapers with plastic pants. The same thing I was put in as a baby, just larger. Just the big square diapers that had to be layered and folded.

The routine was:

After my bath, I'd head to my bedroom with a towel around me. Mom (or whoever) would have my diapers ready on my bed and a changing pad would be laid out. I'd drop the towel, get on the bed and lie down on the changing pad. I'd lift up for the diapers to be put under me, then get powdered and I also remember Vaseline - not sure if that was always or just if I was getting a rash. Then put my butt back down and spread my legs. Mom would pull the diaper up and pin it on. She'd then shake out the plastic pants and hold them up so I could put my feet in the holes. She'd slide them up and I'd lift up once more for them to be pulled up around my waist. That was about it.

In the morning, I'd get out of bed and when Mom was ready, I'd get down on the changing pad again (usually in the living room for some reason) and have them taken off.

I don't ever remember doing any of it myself, other than sometimes having to get my diaper stuff ready.

I was in cloth nappies and plastic pants no disposable nappies back in the 60s have a nappy put on in the living room on the floor embarrassing have been 12 or 14 years old

I had an occasional bed wetting problem as a kid until I was about 13 but didn't use diapers. We just had a vinyl cover on the mattress and then absorbent pads that could be tossed in the washer.

At age 8 to early 9 I was wetting the bed 3 times a week. Along with reduced fluid intake after 5 p.m.and peeing before bed time--a section of a old plastic shower curtain was placed on the top of my bed secured with elastic bands. The bed was protected. If I did pee - only my p.j.bottoms got wet and went into the washer. My bed wetting ceased by age 9-1/2.

Do not remember having a bedwetting problem back then, but, many I chat with did.

For me, feeling more like a little boy, as I got older, caused some kind of regression that launched me right back into childhood, and from what I do remember, pretty quickly.

Different for everyone. But, I do think bedwetting is a much more common issue than regression. Regression happens but feel it is a lot more rare, while, bedwetting is extremely common. More common for kids than people think.

Though, seems to be a lot more common for boys than girls.

I wore cloth diapers with plastic panties for my bed wetting when I was a kid and still do today because I never stopped wetting the bed. As a kid, I was usually taken to be diapered for bed a few hours before my bedtime. How long before bedtime depended on how good or bad I was through the day. In the morning, I wasn't allowed to take my diaper off by myself. I would have to wait until my mom got out of bed and change me.

I was in cloth diapers and plastic pants until I was 12. The wetting stopped then started again when I was 30. Cloth diapers and plastic pants has been my night wear since.

I started to wet the bed at age 5. I soon found myself back in the same diapers that I wore when I was a baby. Mom had stored them away in case I got a sibling. They were 27 x 27" birdseye cloth diapers. She would stack a few together as needed, bought some Gerber super toddler baby pants. And that became my night time attire for a couple of years.

I peed and pooped while sleeping each night until I was around the age of 6 or 7. So every night I had to wear a diaper and plastic pants each night to bed and a diaper each day during kindergarten. Mom figured out that a nightly enema session would help alleviate pooping my diaper most nights. Around age 7 I just finally was able to stop. I did have a few accidents here and there. When the accidents happened, I had to go back to wearing diapers each night till I woke up clean and dry for a week.

I have posted on this subject before. I wet my bed almost nightly until I was 9. I wore cloth diapers and plastic pants at night to keep my bed and pajamas dry. I remember mom telling me that the diapers were for protection and not punishment. Not long after I turned 9 I started to have dry nights and my parents were getting me up at night to use the bathroom. Not long after the diapers went away. I still did have the occasional nighttime accident until I was 12. For that at rubber or plastic sheet was kept on my bed .

I was strictly a cloth diaper and plastic pants boy when I was put back in them at night at 8 years old. When my bed wetting returned at 40, I returned to the same kind of diapers I wore when I was younger, cloth and plastic pants. I was diapered really thickly at night when I was younger, and rarely, if ever, had a leak. Since it worked so well for my bed wetting back then, I chose to wear them when I started to wet again. I do, however, use disposable diapers during the day when I will be out and about. If I am spending the day at home, I will just wear my cloth diapers and plastic pants around the house.

Cloth diapers and plastic pants until i was 8 years old. Every night my mom would come in to the room i was sharing with my baby sister and put us both in diapers before bed.

Mom used cloth diapers and rubber pants for all of us. I remember both the old 36"x36" birdseye diapers and the curity 22"x40" diapers. I wet my bed until 17 and at some point as I got older, she switched from the square to the rectangular diapers. Also the older I got, and I suppose the more I ate and drank, the more diapers she used to diaper me. By my mid teens, she was using four diapers folded together and then used two diaper pins on each side. I was still able to wear the largest size Gerber toddler sized diaper, extra large. They felt so comfortable and secure, especially after I had wet myself. Years later when I started wearing again, mostly secretly because I knew most adults viewed a man my age wearing diapers as weird or perverted, I went back to wearing the same diapers and rubber pants I did as a kid. Mom was so nice to let me take all my old diapers with me when I left home for good. Now, decades later, the old diapers are long gone, but I'm still in cloth prefolds and rubber pants and ducky head diaper pins. Love them so very much.

I was a bedwetter until 6 or 7. My mom diapered me in cloth diapers and rubber pants.

I was very late to learning how to use the evil potty monster. I was either still in training panties and or PAMPERS diapers. Still wetting my bed in training panty or diaper until the summer just before starting kindergarten.

All was fine until I was about 9 years old and again started soaking my bed and bedding and sleeping attire. My mommy got upset once again and one night after my usual bubble bath. She carried me in a big pink fluffy towel to my bedroom. She put me on my back on the towel on my bed and she told me things were going to change. She then told me to lay still and she would be back with new supplies for me. I laid on my back waiting.

She then came into my bedroom with a couple bags. She then explained to me that I was making too much laundry for her to keep up with now with my bedwetting. So then she took out a container of PAMPERS ULTRA DIAPERS FOR GIRLS and placed it on my dresser. Then she took out a container of baby wipes and and a container of baby powder and Desitin rash ointment. Placing all those items on my nightstand.

Then she explained that every night from now on Gina, after your supper, you are going to be able to play for about an hour. Then I will tell you when it is time for your bubble bath and I will have it prepared for you. Then when you get into the bathroom, I will undress you and place you into the bubbles and bathe and clean you fresh. I will then dry you off and carry you back into your bedroom just like I did tonight.

Then you will be immediately diapered for the night and the potty will be off limits to you. While you are diapered, if you need to do any potties then you will use your diaper. You will then let me know if and when you need to be changed.

You are not allowed to remove your diaper yourself or your sister will change you. You will sleep through the night diapered and in the morning I will check on your diaper status.

“Do you understand everything I said Gina?” she said. I was crying but I said yes mommy. Shen then diapered me again for the first time since almost 5 years old. Yes this same process continued every night until I was 18 years old because I was waking most morning in a wet diaper.
