Longest you have had a Foley in place for?

What is the longest you have left a Foley catheter in place for? Not talking about for a medical reason. 12 days for me is the longest, currently have one in for 10 days so I am planning to break the 12 day mark.

For non-medical reasons, the longest I’ve ever had a catheter in was a 4-day weekend. Would like to try to go longer.

After laser surgery on my prostate, I had my foley in place for five days and I dragged around a collection bag.

When I started wearing a catheter I called my urologist's nurse. I asked some questions, about how often to change it, can I masturbate, can I take a shower and a couple of other questions which I don't remember.

As to how long, she said they usually change a catheter every 30 days or there about. She said 30 days was about normal.

Masturbation, she had to find out the answer, she said the Dr. didn't recommend it. I still did it, I liked having the catheter out when I did masturbate.

She said I could shower, but Don't take a Bath or sit in a hot tub. That was one sure way to get a UTI. (Urinary Track Infection.)

Other than that, she said to keep the head of my penis clean, not to do anything stupid.

In the end, I had a catheter in for 90 days, changing it every 30 days. Save a lot of wash, didn't have many enemas, did plan when I would masturbate, sometimes I would leave it in, other times I would remove the catheter, masturbate, then put a new catheter in me. I took showers since it was cold outside and there was no way to go into the lake. I live on a lake. I can wade into just below where the catheter is, but not swim. I have to remove my catheter if I go swimming. I think the water is too cold right now to do that. We are running about 58 degrees for the lake. Has to get warmer for me.

I really did enjoy a catheter in me. I wore it everywhere. I find the leg bags to be a pain in the but, but the larger ones for bedside use are wonderful. I didn't have to get up at all to go pee and got a good night's sleep.

I have tried both the leg bags and overnight bags(bedside ones), leg bags give you lots of mobility. I just carried the overnight bag around the house.

My wife doesn't care, she doesn't want or desire sex anymore, so I enjoy my catheter wearing and enemas.

Best feeling in the world.

MoCathDude, You got Labor Day coming up, why not insert your Catheter on Friday afternoon or evening coming up. You can get the catheter in and wear it until Tuesday morning. That way you can get more than the 28 hours with a catheter in you.

After the first 12 hours, I found it feels good and all you have to do is enjoy the feeling all weekend and I am sure after 3 days, you will want to wear it longer and longer. I am retired so I don't have to go to work, my wife doesn't care if I have a catheter in me. She doesn't like sex anymore. She won't do anal sex anymore either.

So last night I put a catheter in me to keep from having to get up about every hour to go to the bathroom. I have used urinal while in bed and that works also. I can fill a urinal each night.

So give it a try, you got lot of time to do it.

My longest catheter wear was 4 days. It was a 22Fr silicone foley. It was a bit uncomfortable because silicone is a bit more rigid than the latex ones. The insertion and removal went fine. I had some bladder spasms, but they went away with lots of drinking.

The The use of catheters for sex games is certainly very pleasant but also has some risks. Catheterization must be performed very cleanly and carefully. Otherwise, a urethral or bladder infection may develop easily. There is also the risk of overstretching the urinary bladder sphincter and causing urinary incontinence. I have also already introduced catheters with CR32. I do not do that often. I prefer to use Hegar Dilators with 13 mm diameter, which are only 19cm long and do not go into the urinary bladder. It is enough if the dilator goes through the prostate. This is very pleasant and not as dangerous as catheders. Besides, I still have sterile urine to flush the urethra. So you should urinate after the session.

Currently wearing a 16fr filled to 45cc and have had it in for the past 3 days. Current record! It’s so comfortable and I plan to leave it in 2 more days. Once you get past the 24 hour mark it’s a breeze

I totaly agree with you about the 24 hour mark... feel the same! My personal record is 5 days with a 22Fr silicone foley. At the end, I didnt wanted to remove it... loved the whole time I had it in!

I think you can wear a Foley catheter as long as you want. I was told by my urologest's nurse that they change a catheter every 30 days. I was given some instructions as to what not to do., Go swimming, sit in a hot tub, take a bath all on the do not do list. A shower is fine,

I have worn a Foley catheter for 32 days straight and then changed it for a new catheter. I have had a catheter in me for over 60 days straight. I enjoy the feel of a catheter.

I have gotten so used to wearing a catheter that the only time I notice it being in me if for the first couple of hours once I insert it. After that, I don't really feel it unless I shower. It is hard not to notice a latex tube coming out of my penis and not know it is there.

So I believe as long as you are clean and make sure you are clean and don't do anythig stupid to get a UTI. Be clean and careful.

I am very cautious about getting a UTI.I always worried somewhat about a UTI.

I've never had one for a "legitimate" reason so to speak. So my longest for wearing one has been 8 to 10 hours max.

I wear mine mostly for convience. My Dr. has me on diuretics and I have to pee a lot. Many times I was wetting my pants. When I don't have a catheter in me, I wear Depends and I find I was filling them up way too quickly. I was going through 4 and 5 Depends during the day and would get some diaper rash because of me peeing my pants.

When I take the catheter out, I do leak for abut 8 to 12 hours, then I have some control.

For a while I was getting an alert that I should head to the bathroom, but as I took a step or two, my bladder just emptied and I had to clean the floor and myself up. I had very little control. Now I at leat have some control.

I have found I also enjoy wearing a catheter. I can drink all the water or other liquid I want and I dont have to get up and run to the bathroom every 5 to10 minutes. The best part is not having to get up at night and go to the bathroom and I can go to sleep and not have to wake up, use a urinal or go to the bathroom.

So once I put a catheter in me, I leave it in for as long as I can and change it every 30 days. Right now I have had a catheter in me since 6 th of February. I did change the brand out after a day and then the newer one was bothering me some, so I took it out and put a new one in and have no trouble at all since the 13 th of February. I will change this catheter in the first weekend of March.

I shower every day with my shower shot. I wash myself very well each day and clean my leg bag each day. So far I have not had any UTI's while wearing a catheter. Years ago I did get a couple, but those were my errors in not being clean and safe.

Forgot to mention - I'm an 18FR 30CC kind of guy.

I had the catheter 20 Fr inserted the longest for 30 days. I do it for fun. I use catheter plugs and when I want to pee I go to the toilet and open the plug. It feels great to have the catheter in you.

For med fet play and use i was a bed ridden patient and I had one inserted and kept there for 15 days

The longest I had a catheter in was a 24FR/30cc foley for overnight. I put it and used an overnight bag. Loved having it in, especially when I moved. The catheter would slide around on prostate.

3 or 4 days for my hysterectomy.

About 4 ½weeks for medical reasons. The entrance to my urethra was starting to get pretty sore, despite careful catheter cleaning and lubrication with antibiotic ointment. For a guy, underpants makes life with a catheter fairly uncomfortable.

I taped my husband penis, with a band-aid, to his stomach so that the catheter moves as little as possible, because it irritates him. Has anyone had a case of a few drops of blood coming out?

I think it was wearing jockey shorts, which do not allow the catheter to enter my penis at a natural angle for along trip over a poor quality road. I'm pretty sure it was not “crusties” since I cleaned the catheter twice daily and used Bacitracin at the point where the catheter entered me. It's important to keep the catheter well lubricated at the entry point because the catheter tends to move in and out , in men at least.

Yes I have some blood in the yearly days before I retired sometimes in would come from the bladder and sometimes from the inside of the penis ..but that was when I had to remove it to go out shopping or anything. Now I wear it out to the stores. Feels so good to do this.

It takes a long time to get to a 30FR . Take your time and in time, blood will stop. The longer you can wear the better it will get. Enjoy life it is very short. I hope this will help you.

I have worn a catheter for 30 days straight. Removed it and a couple of hours later inserted a new catheter and wore it for another 30 days. I had a catheter in me for 90 days, not for medical reasons, because I was wetting my pants with and overactive bladder.

I just inserted a catheter earlier tonight and will remove it just before I go see my kidney Dr. Then I will insert a new catheter and wear it till I see my botox Dr. I am sure he will say I need more botox injections. The last ones have lasted about3-½ months. The first botox injections lasted about 2 and a ½ months.

Sure is nice not to have to worry about your bladder emptying on you without you being able to control it. A catheter is really helpful in that.

Yes I wear a large catheter, Fr-30 with close to 40 cc in the baloon inside of me. I warmed the water before I filled the baloon, that was a very nice feeling as I filled the baloon.

I enjoy my catheter a lot.

Our urologist has the SP catheter changed every 30 days. Going on 2 years with no infections. Suspect it’s not different for a urethral cath.

I had Foley for about 48 hours after urological procedure (TUIP).

Did I read that right, you insert a 20 FR and a 16 FR catheter at the same time? Why not just insert a FR-30 to start with. I sure wouldn't do that, but to each their own. Seems to me that you are asking for trouble in the long run.

Now I may/could have read that wrong, if so, then I am sorry. I believe in playing safe. Inserting two Foley catheters seems like, to me, asking for trouble.

I didn't have any trouble inserting a FR-30 into me the first time. Lots of lube, inserted it very slowly, felt great going in. Now anything less than a FR-30 and I leak like a seive. The nurse said all catheters leak now and then, with a FR-30 I don't leak as much and as often.
