I also like REAL, MANLY MEN, not sissies. @Cedar once asked me for examples of real, manly men. These are the names I gave him: Clark Kent/Superman, Tarzan, Mephistopheles, my husband, George Clooney, John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, Genghis Kahn, Rasputin, Nietzsche's Zarathustra, G Gordon Liddy and several others in no particular order
You put a smile on my face with the above; and, 'cause i know no better, won't keep my mouth shut:
1. It is great that you cherish hubby, but he only comes fourth (yeah, no particular order, but still)... 😃 kidding, but hey - if I were him, I would appreciate either first or last positions.
2. Adding Mephisto in the mix shows some big brass ones; fully agree, that guy knew what he wanted
3. You do realize that most of your "examples" are fidgets of someone's imagination, or actors impersonating story characters rite? And that includes rasputin (dirty, gross, unwashed, totally repulsive sob) genghis kahn - same as previous only worse. How would you rate John Paul Stapp? Or Julian Assange? Or Keanu Reeves - the real man, not his acting gigs?
It is much harder to be a Real Man in real life than it is in stories... stories always have this way of rewarding the just, letting character shine, and generally the Good prevails... real life mocks that as and when it feels like it.
i read once a psych paper which showed our basic need for balance. Snr Executives (required to show strength, decision power, etc) have higher incidence of submissive behavior in bed, while people submissive at work show prevalence for being dominant at home... so how are these faring as to knowing what they want?
real men have alpha personalities which, when unchecked, can lead them in pretty dire situations. Real men left to their own devices usually end badly, unless some smart, beautiful and infinitely patient woman takes pity on them and sets them rite, usually through the gentle coercion of marriage 😃
Hope you had a great Easter!
