Do you really have to spread your butt cheeks in Military Examinations?

It was part of the entrance physical for the Royal Navy in the 60's

Spreading was the easy part. The other routine torture they called the medical wasnt as pleasurable. My body was gone over with a fine tooth comb.

The funny thing was i almost didnt pass the medical because of FLAT FEET ( yes back in them days). I had to get a waiver to march and they said i probably wouldn't be able to.. PROVED THE DOCTORS WRONG plus wrecked many boots. WAIVER WITHDRAWN IN FIRST YEAR...

I worked at MEPS for a year or so. An external anal exam is required for males and females. My approach wasn't to ask the dude to 'spread 'em.' I just asked him to bend over, and I spread them myself, if necessary. No touching of the anus and no internal exam. (Some career fields, like Special Warfare Airman, do require a rectal exam -- I have no idea why.)

The exam is not for discipline or humiliation. It is not checking for homosexuality. It is looking for abnormalities. Simple problems that could be disqualifying might be severe hemorrhoids, a pilonidal sinus or abscess, or anal fissures. More worrisome would be evidence of a perirectal abscess, or the presence of perirectal sinuses or tracts that could represent inflammatory bowel disease.

The standards or stricter for enlistment and commissioning than for retention for a couple of reasons. If the military takes a person, the government is going to invest tens of thousands of dollars into training that person -- they don't want to take someone who is going to have to drop from training due to a developing medical problem. The other issue is that once a person is in the military, the government provides all of their health care. In that sense, the careful exam is a screen for pre-existing conditions that the government would assume liability for if the person joined up.

I had to go to this examination for the military here in Germany 10 years ago. After the genital exam, i had to turn around and bend over and spread my butt cheeks. The docter inspected my anus but there was no rectal exam. Overall, it was a pretty embarrassing experience.

I never went to a examination for the armed forces since military service is not compulsary anymore but some people I know told me that they had both their genitals and their butt hole inspected. The doctors only checked the outside of the anus and never inserted a finger, however there were rumours that they indeed do a digital rectal exam, which most likely is not true (or wishful thinking for some 😃 )

I had to undergo this examination two times. At the exam I was 18 years od, just close to finish school. At this time service in German Army was compulsory. The second exam I had as a reservist in my fourties.

Both examy included a genital exam. After this part I was asked to bend over and to spread my butt cheeks. The examiner then took a look at my anal area but did not insert a finger in my anus, just touched a bit from outside.

Due to that I was over fourty at the second exam, I was told that a rectal exam of my prostate was on due. The examiner left the decision to me, if I have this exam today or I go to a external urologist and report the result afterwards to the army. I decided to undergo the exam just there at this date. Interesting was, that another examiner was called only for performing this rectal exam to me.

This seems more like an old-school thing nowadays. People would complain a lot about it if it were still going on. Modest times we're in.

As far as I know, a genital exam and a visual exam of the anus are still part of the exam for the military. They certainly were when I was examined and that was just 10 years ago.

I went into the military in 2014 and I can tell you my whole experience with the physical part. So it starts out with getting in line for the urine and blood test and I had a problem peeing infant of people even tho I drank sooooo much water. But after you are done with that you go to an eye exam test it's basically what happens at the eye doctor and there a color test. Then you get a hearing test. And then you go to the dreaded underwear Olympics. Basically there's like 20 guys and they tell you to strip down to your underwear and then one by one they weigh you and take your height and if you are like me and are a little overweight they also take a tape measure and measure your neck and chest and belly. So after that you line back up and they have you do multiple exercises still in your underwear and you have to do the duck walk. So after that's all done you can get dressed and then go into this waiting area and this doctor will call you one by one into the exam room and as soon as I had gotten in there the old doctor guy told me to take off my shirt shoes and socks and so I did and then he started asking me about my medical history which this was the first time I had gone to a doctor in like 3 years. But after the questions he told me to stand up and he looked in my ears and eyes and nose then he told me to open my mouth and he stuck the tongue depressor so far down my throat and I had gagged and he told me to stop gagging because he needed to look down my throat but I couldn't stop because he had it so far down so like I guess try not to have a gag reflex. But then after that he listened to my lungs and my heart and then he told me to lay down on the table and he listened to my belly and then pushed on my belly and he was pretty rough like I think I made him mad with gagging but it was his fault but then he finishes that and tells me to take off my pants and underwear and so I do and he looks at my penis and then checks me for a hernia and then he tells me to turn around and spread my butt cheeks for him and he shines a light into my butt but doesn't feel around or anything just looks and then tells me to put my clothes back on and wait in the waiting room till everyone is done. It's pretty exhilarating if you are into medfet stuff but it was nerve wrecking for me cause it had been the first time I had been naked around that many people and being naked in front of a doctor but I mean I would loveeee to do it again!

I was ordered to report to a facility in Chicago for a pre-induction physical. After taking a test we were ordered to get in line for our physicals and remove our shirts. We were allowed to keep our pants on from station to station for nearly the whole exam. At the last station however there were eight hooks on the wall and eight of us were ordered to line up in front of them and to remove the rest of our clothing and hang them on the hooks. And a doctor on a rolling stool examined our genitals. Then we were ordered to turn around bend over and spread our cheeks wide. Then the doctor came by on his stool and examined each anus. Then we were allowed to get fully dressed.

I’m not sure I agree with that. As a “doctor” I would sure like to give it a try.😉

We did when I went through my enlistment physical. It was the very late thing that was done. We were all brought into a room and then told to strip to our underwear. A few minutes later an older gentleman in a white coat came in and said that were going to given genital exams and rectal exams. He said he was just going to look for the rectal exam unless he saw something of concern and then we we would be seen afterwards. We were told to line up beside each other. He then told us that when he was in front of us to drop our shorts. When he was done with the genital exams he said that he was going to come back down the line behind us, when we felt him touch our shoulder we were supposed to drop our shorts again and this time bend all the way over, reach back and spread our cheeks, he then repeated it this time adding spread them really wide. I can still remember seeing the guy on the right side of me leaning forward, I couldn't see much but I could see him moving and knew he was reaching back, all I could think of was that I was next.
