Interesting article. A bit short on details, like for instance saying how many were licensed therapists. That makes a huge difference whatever the therapy method. Someone who has passed the bar is probably not a one-trick pony.
This reminds me a bit of the character played by Paul Giamatti in the series 'Billions'. High profile prosecutor, he too sees a professional domme. But it being a TV show, the sex is more stressed than other things, though there is a link between his stressful job and wishing to be dominated.
Yes, I just searched for Billions on Zity today as I just discovered and essentially binge-watched 4 seasons of Billions on a Showtime iPad app in the last few weeks. I've been wondering if any Zity members other than myself and agracier have watched it and seen the occasional BDSM scenes in it, a few quite graphic at least in terms of the costuming and equipment used by his Dommes (1 or 2 pro Dommes plus his wife acting Domme). He clearly has BDSM including sex with his wife/Domme, but his pro Domme visits seem to hint at just BDSM without sex, though you can't really know. The very last scene in the Finale in 2019 of Season 4 shows him visiting a pro Domme who's dressed in shiny PVC or latex, has him dressed in some kink clothing, horizontally suspended ~3-5 feet above the floor and immobilized by some bondage gear, starting to be dominated and flogged or struck by her.
Perhaps the most interesting facet of that BDSM story arc is that sometime in about Season 3 or 4 after we knew about his private BDSM for some time, he publicly comes out as an S&M practitioner on TV in order to get ahead of it for pre-emptive damage control in one of his political campaigns. Remarkably, he gets elected in spite of it, I think to NY State Attorney General.
One other item worth mentioning. I haven't read the article posted in the OP, but I do recall reading and seeing in a documentary or two that men in particular sometimes go to Dommes not only for the physical treatment they want from a Domme, but also because the sheer psychological or emotional relief and catharsis of simply having someone sympathetic to reveal to and discuss it with them is so powerful. I'm into other kinks rather than S&M, (rubber, sneakers, anal, enemas, bondage, D/s) but I dare say that having Zity members to post to and discuss these with for the last several years probably has saved me considerable time and expense in my not needing to visit pros for enemas, colonics and other kink experiences.
