Is Gay MedFet 'Different'?

There aren't a lot of topics in the "Gays" section of the LGBT Discussions, so I thought I'd start a new one. I've been participating in the standard discussion groups and see some pretty stark differences between "them" and "us". What do you think are the main differences between MedFet for the gay community and for the L-B-T- + & Str8 communities?

I'm not sure it's different except in that way that gay and straight sexualities are distinct to begin with. For myself, I don't really role play - my thing is that I am very into some real exam experiences I had in my teens and it's a masturbation thing, I guess, more than anything else. I like sharing memories of experiences with others who are similar. I'm open to sharing with men and women, gay and straight, but I guess I am more at home when sharing with another gay guy because there is a sense that our responses to those real medical experiences (by responses, I mean the possibly hard to articulate reasons they became a fetish) might be better understood by another gay guy. If that makes sense.

I don't think that there should be much of a difference if the patient and the doctor are open and honest about the complete exam. If you are talking about a fantasy experience that is a totally different story but as a bi man I have had exams by straight and gay doctors and they were exactly the same as I would have expected.

I think so. Having been with both gay and straight men my observation is that gay men are much more in tact with their bodies making med/fet a far more erotic experience. Because gay men can be far more open about their bodies it leaves much for the imagination to enjoy a med/fet expereince.

I enjoy being patient to a straight playdoc, there is something about the dynamic that is a massive turn on! The experience of having him explore my ass and then collect a semen sample is incredible. It has not been a negative factor at all. At first I thought it might be, but things were every bit as realistic and erotic as I had hoped, probably because we were both very much into the medfet experience itself to the point that our different sexualities didn't matter. I suspect it is because, for most people, "strange" always makes us hot. I'm sure there are gay men who would be a patient for a female doctor if the scenario was interesting. The fetish allows someone to experience what might otherwise be off-limits to them by putting it within a framework.

As a very straight male play doc, I have very little interest in examining men. Note, however, I said “very little” - not none … 😳

It used to be none. And I can honestly say, the only reason for the change has simply been me broadening some of my medical study to male physiology. The driver for THAT has been … myself.

I’m personally fascinated with the sensations I can trigger on myself via urethral and prostate play, so I’ve started studying more. The greater amount of study has lessened my default “ewww!” reaction that used to come anytime I even considered another man unclothed.

And so, extremely mild though it may be, my own interest in a male exam is more about my curiosity about the anatomy and in how I might react under certain stimuli … and what better way to explore such things than via another person whose anatomy matches my own?

Bottom line* … as a straight play doc, any interest in examining men is entirely non-sexual. But hey, I’ve changed this much, one is never wise to reject any idea outright as if one can never change.

Maybe if the patient is a man but androgyne. That means his behavior and his body are not so masculine and he is playing the "female“ part in the relationship. The straigt man who is playing the doctor is masculine and dominant. But I think this is only one of a lot of different reasons because there are a lot of man who are very masculine and gay.

One thing that has stood out to me participating in (mostly) straight forums like Zity is how few gay guys in general seem to be into MedFet? i do not know of any gay MedFet forums? Even 'kink' in general. The only gay BDSM forum i know of is Recon, and it looks and feels very different to me from say The Cage, a primarily straight BDSM forum.

I've met a lot of gay guys in my life, but never met one @ho had an enema fetish, especially as a Top, for instance.

Perhaps this is because until fairly recently, even during my lifetime, homosexuality was often listed as a 'pathology of the mind' as well as an actual crime, as unusual and therefore inappropriate sexual activity, being called a fetish even or a cult (for crying out loud).

So I would suppose that just simple (legal) acceptance is already a liberating feeling and still needs to be fully experienced and enjoyed before becoming satiated and then moving on to other forms of sexual activity.

my general feel is not that gay guys lack similar interest, desire or need, but that they are more reluctant to expose those things about their self. It makes sense to me that many are getting used to the idea of just being accepted as gay and don't wanna push the envelope by giving others potential reason to send them scrambling back into hiding in a 'closet.'

I am a gay man and also a play doc. When I first started to do play exams I assumed that most of my play patients would be gay men. However, that turned out to be far from the truth. The majority of my patients were and still are men who identify as straight or bi, not gay. I offer and do exactly the same offered sets of exams with no sex involved to all of my male patients regardless of their sexual orientation. They seem to like the exams as over 90% of my patients keep coming back for more exams with me. If people are really into med fet, then it doesn't seem to make a whole lot of difference in the sex or sexual orientation of the play doc, as long as they get an enjoyable exam.

i think this is a good and interesting question. i wonder if it has to do with the individuality of our sexuality, and how layered and complex it can be?

No doubt, there are straight guys with a med fet who would play doc to you, so it's not necessarily a universal phenomena... i'd imagine there are some on this site? But, i don't doubt your experience either.

i've found with myself that some of my desires/needs are a lot more easily accessed than others. For instance, just about any Guy Who expresses the need/desire to breed me will evoke the bottom in me with little to no discrimination. Add what i perceive as mean, forceful or bullying to that, an i shut down and become unavailable.

There's also things like S/m. i have no desire/need for pain, but i have experienced where a Man has gotten me to want a spanking from Him by using the sub parts of me as a sort of door to someplace i would not generally want to go. Using affection and His own desire/need had a mind fuck effect on me and His accessing and controlling those things positioned Him to spank me. But it wasn't the spanking, it was His affectionate expression of His need that got me.

i don't really have a Doctor/patient fetish, but i would speculate there are similar dynamics at play. That maybe with some accessing other parts of their desire/need could over arch the gender part? Even there, i think it would never be universal, but i suspect some of those guys could be seduced using some of their other needs/wants to get there?

When I was a kid/teenager, I was part of a group of people of a range of ages that got together to play doctor and similar games that could lead to sexual experimenting of different degrees. Of the boys I kept in touch with later, the few who grew up to be gay or bi tended to look back on those games as a wholly or mostly positive and welcome entry to sexuality, while the boys who grew up to be straight were more ambivalent about it or more embarrassed that it had happened. It was not the "magic" thing for them that it was for the gay ones.

I'm bi (maybe more gay-leaning lately) but I agree with all of this. I wonder if there might be some special appeal of medfet to gay kids. Although, having said that, my partner is not the least bit turned on it by it so I don't know.

The senior class at my high school always put on a variety show near the end of the year called the Senior Assembly. It was a mix of things. Kids with musical talent would sing or play, someone might tell jokes or juggle. But there were always skits about memories of high school events, classes, etc. A group of jocks my senior year did a skit that made fun of our school's somewhat notoriously time consuming sports physicals (always very large groups, in a station-to-station scheme with invariably LONG waits (you had to arrive by a certain time, but it might be hours before you or the group you were with was called in). Anyway, this skit was kind of a ripoff of the dungeon skits on Nickelodeon's You Can't Do That On Television, with the idea of making fun of the long waits. A couple guys walked in and said to a guy with a clipboard that they were here for the physical. The guy tells them, "go on in and get ready and wait for your names to be called." So then the curtain opened and there were a few hairy kids, who had also not shaved their faces, hanging from dungeon chains and wearing underwear. The newly entering guys asked "how long have you been waiting?" and one of the guys answered, "We're here for our kindergarten physical." SO, long story short, it bears pointing out that 3 of the 5 kids involved with this sketch, including the one who wrote it, turned out to be gay or bi.

This is an interesting post. I’m not a gay man, and I’ve never been interested in men, however my medfet interest is stethoscopes and listening to heart and breath sounds. I generally only enjoy women, but as a child I used to examine my cousin and he would examine me. My only real interest was his chest and I would listen to him breathing and his heart. As an adult, I do occasionally find myself looking at younger men with smooth chests and imagine listening with my stethoscope.

I think age play may differ for us. Where stories of straight exams of similarly aged adults tend to be about exposure and humiliation, ours tend to become decidedly porny in that situation. Gay exams tend to be about the exposure and humiliation of of the patient only when the doctor is much older than the patient (and nobody wants to see or imagine the doctor sexually).
