Is Giving a Blow Job more Intimate than Being Fucked

A young lady recently told me that for a woman giving a guy a blow job is a more intimate experience than him inserting his penis inside her.

Is that true ?

Is the feeling of his penis in your mouth really more intimate than his penis entering you ?

Is sucking him off more intimate then letting him fuck you ?

For me, giving a blow job is a much more up close and personal sensory experience than PIV sex. So yes, for me it could be more intimate.

Not to be too clinical, but the times where I've felt giving a blow job was more intimate than PIV sex would have involved the following:

1) the guy is encouraging/complimentary and enthusiastic, but not too enthusiastic!

2) he's well groomed, showered recently, etc

3) he uses his hands and body to show he's enjoying himself, again not too enthusiastically

4) possibly it's been a long time since we've been together, or it's the first time I'm going down on him - missed or new smells and tastes are especially intimate when they're good (see #2)

On the flip side of that, if he has his way with my mouth and throat to the point where I'm gagging, choking, and worrying I might suffocate, that too would be more intimate than PIV sex.

From what I have seen in movies, TV shows, read in books and articles etc, I had the impression that, in the US at least, giving a blowjob was something that was almost a given after a few dates, a mostly non-consequential sexual thank-you. Like proverbial cheerleaders blowing a winning team.

That is at the kind of attitude that I seem to pick up, maybe perhaps from the 'always-hysterical about sex' crowd.

Which would mean that blow-jobs are far less intimate than PiV. At least that is how I deduce the social convention. After all, blow-jobs come with no (virtually) risk of pregnancy while PiV is a different matter, hence more intimate and personal.

But hey, convince me I have been interpreting the sexual conventions shown on TV and in the movies and media wrong.

Oral sex is great - but anal sex following oral sex is more intimate for us.

Depends on the situation and variables involved.

I'd consider the first few blow jobs or rounds of oral sex in the relationship to be more intimate than sex. After you've been together awhile, I wouldn't consider it as intimate as sex any longer. It could be a scene your partner has created with you in mind to increase the intimacy one way or the other.
