Diapers becoming more accepted

I've noticed a lot of participation and interest on some of

the diapers sites-- although I think this is still the best one around--

I heard a comment from one of the girls on a dating show

I think it was 5th wheel where they compete for dates--

one of her responses as to how she would get him to like

her was " put him in pampers"

now I'm definitely in the 40+ genereation and it has

always been " dirty litle secret" if you were attracted to

wearing diapers-- and very misunderstood

I think , while still not mainstream-- like bondage or

homosexualism-- it still a litle on the edge of the fetish

world-- and produces giggles at best-- re: diapered astronaut

story or the David Vitter fiasco-- poor guy-- one only

wonders what his wife makes him do.

I'm sure some of you are very guarded about who you talk

to about this fetish--

just curious to know if you personally know any others

into the ab/dl scene or do you ever talk about it - I generally limit my comments to forums like these. I have been

the victim of some very nasty gossip and know how it can

hurt.

More and more elderly people use diapers; however, I do not think the world accepts DL.

Not only more elderly people theres also lots of bed wetters and i think the wold have accept it just that it needs times 😉

they diaper in hospital-- I know last time I was in

for observation --it seemed like a lot of the patients

had diapers on for one reason or another

I think it is starting to gain recognition more than acceptance because every time you search the web you get pages explaining it to the world as a condition or mental health thing wether good or bad so people are looked at as sick mentally wich is better than being looked at as a perv but not as good as having a rights group like the gay alliance or having partys advertised on the news like the exotic erotic ball or shadow lane parttys.

I would love DL to be more mainstream. With people more aware about this I'm sure coming out to friends and signifigant others would be easier and more accepted.

I've been surfing the forum for a little while now and am seeing alot of our younger generation folks on here with interests in AB/DL. I am male and in my mid-30's and I guess have always had some sort of DL side to me although I've never been fully active in it, I tend to have "spikes" in activity; I am in one now. Anyway, over the last decade or so I have actively searched the net about this fetish and have never seen the "younger crowd" into this fetish as I do now.

I'm curious to know how or what is getting you younger crowds into AB/DL. Anybody wish to share their thoughts on this?

It is simply that it has taken time and the change of our culture to slowly allow for 1. The spread of knowledge and access concerning the fetish becuase even 5 years ago you didn't have as many paysites as you do now or as many forums such as this one and 2. to allow a slow rising momentum for diaper lovers to follow in coming out. No one wants to or can really come out and promote an idea on their own. But as they population of fetish grows its bound to happen.

I don't believe it is any dramatic change, over the years more and more diaper lovers have found more and more friends and supporters, this overtime cultivates a safe environment and promotes the idea more and more, as the call rings louder with the ever growing group more people hear.

It has just taken years for us all to find each other and create this type of environment that is still isolated in own little corner of the world but we are starting to be on Jerry Springer shows and on fictional episodes of CSI for example. It is becoming more acceptable as more people come.

I think that adult diapers are becoming more mainstream and acceptable by even the general public. I don't know about the AB side of things, but there is a lot more "protection" used for "convenience or occupational" purposes than there used to be.

Some years back when June Allyson started doing commercials for "Depends", they were marketed for use mainly by older women. The very topic resulted in a lot of "snicker, snicker, tee hee" types of humor. They were fair game for the late night comedians, sitcoms and anyone else looking for a cheap laugh.

Now various pads, undergarments and "fitted briefs" are commonly advertised weekly in the Sunday paper drug and discount store ads.

Very few adults run around saying "Hey look at me, I'm wearing a diaper", but a lot more folks are using them on long airline flights, car trips and so on.

Diaper use is becoming more common among flight attendants, truckers, construction workers and others who don't have ready access to a restroom.

I doubt if they would like being refered to as a "diaper lover", but hey, if the shoe fits......

I don't know if diaper wearing is becoming more acceptable sexually,because I singed up for a phone dating service and in my profile i said that I loved to wear cloth diapers and Plastic panties Most of the responses I got were that I was A sicko and should get help. But medically it maybe more accepted because of prostate cancer, diapers for males maybe more accepted

I think all you have too do is try wearing and wetting diapers if you do you will like it it is a great way to live I am not a real bedwetter but i live as one and i tell my parents i am a bedwetter and my boy friend wats too so it is great fun all you have to do it try

The awareness of the AB/DL world is certainly more obvious then in years past thanks to the internet. The acceptance of this fetish is still far out of reach.

I'll bet a lot of people who look down on it would change their minds if they just tried it. Diapers are such a good feeling! (Dry diapers of course)

No, for the most part it's not becoming more accepted.

There's a big difference between 'tolerance' in the proper sense of the word, and 'acceptance'. Even homosexuality is more 'tolerated' than 'accepted', 'that's so gay' is still insult, for ex.

There's a common desire among fetishists of all sorts to believe that the public is getting more accepting of their various interests, whether it be diapers, S&M, or whatever. The Internet feeds the sense of that happening, since it enables like-minded individuals who are only a tiny fraction of the total population to meet others who share their interest, where before he or she thought they were totally alone. One can visit a site where dozens or hundreds of people sharing one's interest interact, and it starts to seem almost ordinary.

However,this perception is mostly an illusion.

I think that individuals that go to a specific site and look around and then make comments are comparable to yesteryear's crank callers. Since caller ID has made this particular obsession much harder to accomplish these same loser's have moved on to the web. If you respond you are probably just giving them more incentive to continue, it is best to ignore these losers!

Diaper Dad really hit it. I agree with his statements. I am gay and people do, now, seem to tolerate but not really accept. Since I have come out of the closet, none of my friends have tossed me aside and several of them know that I wear diapers as well. 😜 The nets has help all of us share our interests with others and also helped us not to feel that are some kind of weirdo!

As the diapers are sold in any supermarket, its easy to get a diaper and as we get more secure wearing one, it became more reachable.

before it was needed to wash the cloth diapers, now you can go and change the diaper in a minute and just throw away the wet one.

You know, I'm not sure if the USA or the World is more accepting or not. Or if I should use the word tolerate. What I do know is in my house I wear diapers discreetly. I have a couple of bags of disposables in my room but don't try too hard to hide them. I throw my wet used diapers in the trash with all the other stuff. I know that 4 out of 5 family members who live with me know I am the one who is wetting the diapers in the trash. I believe none of my family is bothered by this. I have told many friends I like to wear diapers and they are still friends.

This is my world and that is what concerns me the most. Yes I would like it if I could walk down town in a diaper T-shirt and pair of shoes but that isn't going be for quit some time. So for now I just have to keep my pants on.

I wonder if it isn't becoming more known or if more younger people really have this fetish. Considering the other fetishes out there, I'm actually surprised this isn't more common. Almost everyone sometimes wishes they were younger. Everybody is familiar with diapers too so virtually everyone could be curious about being a baby. In contrast, a lot of people don't knows about BDSM as nobody wears chains or gags when they are younger. How would people have exposure to develop that? So why diapers are less known as a fetish is somewhat puzzling.

Someone on a Dr. Spock message board even mentioned it was a fast growing trend among younger kids. But I don't know how much evidence he's basing that off of.

Well, in regard to accepting homosexuality, the younger generation really is coming on strong. I think it was reported that people under 30 voted 60% against prop 8 (gay marriage ban) in California.

But still, wouldn't more people be curious about what it would like to be a baby, especially since many don't remember that time of their life? I'm not saying a lot of people will become AB, I'm just thinking more might try it out and some will enjoy it while others will think it wasn't all that.

Im almost positive that almost everyone in the world has tried a diaper on of some sorts after babyhood years just too see if they like it!!! Or maybe playing house with friends.

Being a young person myself I think its just the times. We are a little more plugged in to online culture and spend much more time all over the internet. Compared to slightly older folks I don't think the internet appeal is there for them.

On the other hand I wouldn't want people to get into the AB/DL scene because they thought it was neat. In my case I looked to the internet for answers and then support but it wasn't the cause. -BabyKitty

I don't see how there is no in between. Some people like to just wear diapers while others like to act completely like a baby. Many people might try on diapers and think they're kinda cool to go out to a college party with or something. They don't hate diapers but they won't go out of their way to wear them.

I don't even like to say I have a fetish. Some people like to wear briefs while others like boxers. I just happen to find diapers more comfortable than either. How come one choice of underwear is simply a preference while another is a sexual fetish?

I was born in 1952. Thinking back to t.v. in the late 50s and early 60s before Pampers, I can't recall ever seeing anything in commercials about diapers.

Then Pampers came into being and now there was diaper content everyday on t.v. When I was 13 and after I had tried my first set of cloth diapers, I went to a local grocery store and bought a box of Pampers to try. I was so disappointed when they didn't fit.

Today, diaper commercials are still running and the internet has made our community more visible. Oh, to be young again and know what I know.

The poor potty training I went through, and the Diaper punishment I was put through on several occasions...

I think part of it is the successful marketing of diapers and diaper-like products to and for older children--there is now a diapering product for just about everyone, and products for children that will fit even many or most adults (it is possible for a 39-year-old man to fit into a girl's Underjams pull-up diaper...guess how I know 😉 ). Kids are trained later and their diapers are more comfortable.

It may also be a somewhat infantilist response to a troubled world...I think we can all identify with wanting to be more innocent.

Your right! the same thing happened with feminine hygiene products. In the early sixties there were three brands and three types ( Tampax kotex Modess ) look at the market now. In those years supper size or toddler baby pants fit up to a 30 inch waist, so obviously the were a lot of older kids still in diapers. The companies are now marketing PROTECTION and want every body to be wearing some thing all the time just like the feminine products side. Both types of products are, I believe , addictive. People these days don't now how much they really want to disconnect. Our problem is that traditionally girls have allways taken care of boys. We need to show them that we can take car of them I this special way.

Yes with the access to and acceptance of diapering latter

in the pre teen and teen years there will be more people with this fetish. This is only the body telling the mind to take a brake. Remember Diapering is gooood for you.
