Era of the buttocks?

Can't help but wonder whether there might be some connection between what seems likei increased interest in spanking and the fashion trend that has been going on for some time that calls attention to or emphasizes women's buttocks.

Back in the 50s and 60s we saw the coming of leggy attire- mini-skirts, short shorts,hotpants. Now its showing off the buttocks that seems to be in vogue- the latest manifestation being the yoga pants craze. They are even more revealing and suggestive than the tight denim jeans that were already around

Maybe it started in the mid-70s when the "tanga" or string bikini came out of Brazil, and then evolved from being merely "cheeky" to the thong that exposed the entire butt. And g-string bikinis that look like something a burlesque stripper would have worn, Nowadays what is considered a conservative swimsuit is like as not to be showing a small slice or arc of butt cheek.

And of course thong underpants entered the mainstream, a fashion that previously would only have found on sale from "adult" buisinesses like Frederick's of. Hollywood.

And the fad of wearing jeans or slacks so lowslung that the thong was exposed, which was really big in the 90s and early part of this century. Don't see much of it anymore. At one point it was something schools and workplaces had to deal with in their dress codes.

And shorts- have gotten shorter and shorter, no longer like with the short shorts of the past that only completely bared the legs, now so short the cheeks of the bottom are showing, the so-called booty shorts.

And of course we now have celebrities that are famous for their butts. The Kardashian sisters come to mind of course. Jennifer Lopez. Lady Gaga. Miley Cyrus "twerking" and flaunting her nearly bare bottom. The Miss BumBum pageant in Brazil, not your standard bikini contest but a competition where women in thong swimsuits strive to see who has the best butt. And what are best described as "butt models" like Vida Guerra and Nicole "Coco" Austin.

A perusal of Google images quickly shows what I am saying. Just type in any of these women's names, or something like "floss bikini butt contests" and you will be overwhelmed with pictures, probably dozens of Kim Kardashian's rear end alone being shown off in a thong bikini. (And how delightful it is to imagine a wooden paddle be applied to it, a long and painful session that would leave her not wishing to sit for some time!)

Whether its a micro-bikini, yoga pants or a slinky formal evening gown for an. awards presentation, there is one thing in common- the buttocks are going to be noticeable!

I think there is nothing finer than a girls ass. That said I don't think recent trends have had anything to do with an uptick in spanking. I think it has always been around as a humiliating punishment and men's fantasies with a nice red hot bottom over their lap have been around just as long. While I am partial to a bottom with a nozzle in it first, a nice red bottom squirming over my lap is a close second.

My husband would strongly disagree with you on that point. He has commented on my shrinking bikini bottoms and our daughters almost non-existent bikini bottoms as a fashion statement clearly emphasizing the buttocks and things you can do to them.

The first thing my husband does when I put on a pair of tight jeans or deerskin pants is take a swing at my ass and remark how he likes seeing a nice "spankable ass".

Related to this perhaps is that as fashions became more revealing, spankings on-screen ,in movies and tv, became taboo. Some time in the 1960s as best as I can tell.
