Vintage medical anal devices

I was going to ask here whether 'butt plugs' had ever had a real or even perceived legitimate medical use, such as for bowel incontinence or constipation. Well I did a quick google first, and came across this.

Leaving aside such obvious insanity, or perhaps not, does anyone know of other devices from the late 19th to mid 20th century that were used to treat anal/bowel problems? Has anyone ever experienced any of them, in either a fetish or real medical setting? How many weird and wonderful things can we come up with?

Yes in the 60's at a age that I cant say here for reason's I cant say they used them on me to open me up and get me ready for something else . even so it hurt a lot .
