Lube packaging as toys?

I notice that a well-known brand of massage lube, Durex, comes in a smooth phallic shaped container that looks designed especially to be used for self pleasuring. Am I right, do people like using them in this way?

Why not use purpose built toys? Plastic bottles are notorious for sharp molding debris, and the gap around the cap traps all kinds of yucky stuff, not to mention sharp edges.

I'm with Buttwoman on this one. I would think sharp edges could certainly be a hazard for using the packaging in this way. Many better things that are designed for the task.
