The morning after the Initiation, Battalion Chief Steve and Captain Holly were sitting at the Flames station following a staff meeting. The staff meeting covered the training procedures and techniques needed to inpliment the successful transition to new equipment.

Holly and Nicole were waiting for their morning crew to arrive at the station. Marshall the fire house dog was running around in back of the fire house trying to burn off some of his energy.

The morning crew was ZaBoots, Just Dan and Moppy for Fire; and as EMT's was Tonya, Anne and Bridgette. They all arrived at the station for their daily duties. Holly had a nice hearty breakfast waiting for the crew, consisting of firehouse omelets, hash browns and fresh fruit. There was also coffee, juice and milk available as well for them when they arrived for their shift.

Holly said, ''good morning, is everyone excited to start their first full day of work.''

They all answered yes we are.

ZaBoots goes, 'I am super excited to start and drive the Flames Mobile.'

And Tonya was excited to Drive the Bare Mobile.

The morning started out very calm and quiet for a change, as mornings always seemed to be the busiest time for them all. They hung around the station waiting for their first call to duty to occur.

Around 2pm, they received a call of an accident. ZaBoots raced to hook up the horses to the Flames Mobile and Bare Mobile. ZaBoots drove the Flames Mobile with Jan Dan and Moppy; while Tonya drove the Bare Mobile Anne and Bridgette to the scene. Holly drove her own buggy to the scenr of the accident.

When they arrived at the scene of the accident, they were shocked to find a horse buggy was entangled with a milk truck. Both vehicles were over turned with milk flowing all over the roadbed.

ZaBoots, Just Dan and Moppy cleared the scene of the accident by moving the remnants of the wagons to the side of the road. They then cleared the road of debris and put down sand to absorb the milk that had spilled on the road during the accident. Now traffic could resume.

Meanwhile Tonya, Anne, Bridgette transported the injured to Zity Medfet Hospital to be treated. Then they all returned to Flames Station to discuss how well they performed and handled their first day on the job. As well as to discuss how they liked their jobs.

Holly said to them, ''you all did a great job and performed very well. So at this time the fire house paddle does not need to be taken off the hook and used.''

Just Dan breathed a sign of relief as he was still very sore from the spanking he received the night before.

The shift ended and they all parted ways to head to their homes for the evening.

ZaBoots headed into the town to resume being the jester. Anne stopped by her butt plug shop to try to sell some butt plugs, while there was still some daylight left.

Holly was still at the Flames Station as the evening crew showed up. Joe, gwhap and Lance were the night shift firefighters, with Joe driving the Flames Mobile. The EMTs on that night were sourpuss, spankablesally and the evening driver for Bare Mobile was Nicole.

Everyone settled down for the evening after they all ate the supper that Holly prepared for them. Supper was spaghetti and meatballs, with garlic bread and a fresh garden salad. The pasta, sauce and meatballs were all hand made from scratch. The bread had been baked that morning. After eating, everyone headed upstairs to their bunks to rest or read until called to duty.

The Flames Station was so peaceful even Marshall was sleeping. Then about Midnight, the alarm sounded!!! Everyone jumped up out of bed and slide down the station pole to gear up and head to the call. Joe raced to hook up the horses to the trucks. The men set off as fast as they could go and the women took off going a different path; but made it there at the same time. It was a big fire at a coal mill.

Holly arrived on scene, taking command she issues orders, ''Joe you take charge of the pumper.''

''Lance, you and gwhap set up a hose and nozzles. Aim the water at the base od the flames.''

She then ordered Nicole, ''take charge of the EMT's and set up a casualty clearing station across the road.''

Holly had to call in other departments to help battle the fire.

She so wanted to go running into the coal mill to help them out; knowing how intensely the flames were burning, she stopped, turned around and headed back to take command once again. She knew she was not allowed to go running into anymore burning buildings; as she had precious cargo in her life who needed her at home in one piece.

The station was on the scene the whole shift. Everyone started to get cranky, and sourpuss was complaining about having to treat and transport so many victims.

Sourpuss complained so much that when they arrived back at the Flames station Holly announced, ''before we discuss tonight's fire and the stations performance, I need to dispense with some discipline. Sourpuss come here. Drop your pants and grab the bench.''

''Lance bring me the paddle.''

Delivering ten solid strokes, Holly warned sourpuss, ''Do not complain about your work load ever again in public.''

And so ended the first day at Zity's own Flames station.
