A quick visit to the doctor

A quick visit to the doctor

I was feeling weak and tired since afternoon yesterday. I am busy with work these days but knowing my health since past few months I decided to meet the doctor in the medical room of our office. When I told the doctor how I felt, she checked my BP and found it to be 110/70. I always have a normal reading of 120/80 whenever I have got it checked, The doctor told me not to exert much and be careful. But stupid me still ended up working late.

Today when I woke up I was again feeling weak. I even felt slightly light headed and my hands were clammy too. I felt it would be good to take a day off and see a doctor. For me, low BP is rare so mom felt that it is better we go to the hospital that mom has her physical at, than see our regular GP incase some further investigation is required, it can be performed there itself.

At the hospital, before we met the doctor in the OPD, her nurse took my weight BP and temperature. BP had dropped slightly further to 100/60, I was running slight fever of 99.2F. After the readings I was called in by the doctor. Mom also came along.

I told her I was feeling weak and light headed and don't feel like eating. Mom also told her about my ovarian cyst and breathlessness attack in the past. She aksed me to take the patient’s seat and took my pulse, didn't say anything and checked my eyes first checking by pulling my eyelids then with the pen light. Next she asked me to open my mouth and stick my tongue out. She said things don't look serious as my tongue was moist and I seemed to be well hydrated. Then she listened to my heart and lungs, over the clothes itself. (Since I had decided to take a day off I was in Pyjamas and T-shirt only) “Normal” she said after stething both in the front and the back.

Then she asked me lie down on the bed. She raised my T-shirt and exposed my abdomen. Then she rubbed her hands. (I guess to avoid touching with cold hands, because her hands felt warm and the touch was comfortable) Then she started pressing all over my tummy and then tapped at a few places. She then inserted her one hand slightly inside the waistband of my pyjamas and pressed area above my panty. Even though that was quick but it made me blush. She kept asking if I felt the pain. Luckily there was no pain. When I told that, she said she just wanted to be sure because I had told I didn't feel like eating. “Come” she said at the end.

She said “It looks like because of fever and exertion. Take proper rest and keeping having something even if it is little. “ She prescribed a couple of general medicines and said that if I don't feel better in three days, I may need to get blood tests and USG done.

That's how my visit ended.

It actually looks because of exertion only, because I have been resting since I was back from the doctor and early in the evening even fever was gone. I felt lot better, Not tired.
