Wind

Wind …. Any where else the wind we get here ,, every year ,,,, From late February to May Would be with an intense storm or an extreme weather event . Here it's an every year “thing” . We get wind averaging 30 or 40 miles an hour with gust of 100 or more . It becomes second nature to park a truck or car facing east as the wind is always from the west and will sandblast the windshield and its easier to replace the rear window and cheaper as well . A building or shed works as well . When going to town , it becomes apparent who the new to town people are . Most of the local , long term residents , crowd the east ward facing parking as habit . The new comer's all crowed into what seams to be easier , closer to the door parking . They will learn after a windshield replacement or a paint job . It's not unusual to see a car or truck that is sandblasted with Opacic windows on one side . They will be for sale cheep sooner or later . The wind , It drives you nut's . I've seen people get unreasonable upset . Even inside as I am , It's irritating . It makes my home shake and rattle . It knocks out the power two or three times a day . It causes roads to be closed , Like Washoe Valley 395 . I've seen motorhomes and big rigs blown over onto there side's . It become's appearent why tree's only grow in sheltered areas .

We don't call the wind Marayia { yeah I know I destroyed that word}
