Improvement...bone bit by bone bit
It is now 7 weeks post fall, 4 weeks post surgery. I had my cast removed and was upgraded to a “removable cast”, aka a brace. New bone is forming in the right places. Which made the surgeon very happy. Made me happy as I now have a bit more mobility with my left hand. It doesn't close all that best, but with time and physical therapy (which will start soon) it will come back.
My humorous is also coming back into shape. The pieces are coming together with new bone growing as well. I wasn't sure how this would go. I was getting myself ready for possible replacement surgery so this was welcome news. So surgery seems to be off the table. Thank goodness. If it was a need I'd go with it, but I feel better with less invasion being done with my shoulder.
I can do things that get my arms moving gently. No lifting! No strengthening activity! Keep doing what we've been doing as it seems to be working. My sub is happy because I can do light dishes. He hates doing dishes as the sink is lowered for his short Miss. But he'll have to continue doing something else. I'm not going to let him return to sitting all day.
If I take off the “removable brace” off and don't wear my sling I look pretty normal. This helps sub forget the picture of me falling out of his head. He remembers that picture way too often. It makes him very sad that it wasn't him. But he'd have not done well being the patient. It didn't help him his first times going around.
If I'd only known that breaking my arms would get him up out of his lazy boy chair.
So I'm on the mend. On the road to getting back to moving and doing normally. Something I miss a lot.

Oooo, lots of empathy, "hurt" my shoulder in January, February/March did physical therapy. It's much better, but still causes pain at times. Shoulders are no joke.

@MissStress Glad to hear your recovery is going really well! :) I know what it's like wearing a sling for 6 weeks and have little mobility of your dominant arm, it's rough! And now I have to have shoulder replacement in the future. Ughhhhhh......
