Drifting

Drifting. This is not the kind one does in a fast moving car, but in ones own life and in ones family.

Drifting is what happens in some families when the parents are gone. The family has no one to keep them connected anymore. No one to nag them to get together. No one holding the strings and keeping them together and connected.

I'm not sure if drifting is a bad or good thing. Because then you see who really cares and who doesn't. Who makes it a point to stay connected...involved even in a minor way.

You see those that only want, take, but do not give back. You get to see where the priorities are. What is really important.

Blood does not mean one is family forever. Sometimes it is those real friends that become ones family instead.
