Dream Job, Well Almost
Was so nice to be back bar tending yesterday after being off a week, was a typical day, regulars, decent lunch crowd including my favorite little couple and around the bar about half full. Then mid afternoon this couple walked in wearing business attire, sat at the bar and ordered drinks, one could tell they were very much out of their environment. I served their drinks, which they approved of, then went about my business but they continued to watch every move I made, rather creepy. Their drinks were empty to which they paid and I thanked them for coming in they said did I have a minute to talk? He handed me a card, said he might have a job offer, explained a bit, then said to give him a call the next day.
I went home and looked up the card which was from a high end hotel in a rather high class shopping center. So this morning I called, he gave me a few more details so I decided to meet him in person. Both of them met me in the hotel lobby and we went into the cocktail lounge where we sat at small table where they asked me if I would like something to drink and was given a bottle of water. Then I begin to listen
The had a job to which they were recruiting the right person. A high end bartender with a good personality, outgoing and able to communicate with their customers which were basically the 35 and up crowd. Just tend bar, no waiting tables though there was small plates that I would have to clear. The hours were Thursday thru Sunday night, come in at 5pm, then he mentioned salary which was eye popping. I would have to wear black pants, white long sleeve blouse, red tie with black shoes which they would provide.
Then it was my turn to which I said this would be my dream job if I was a single woman, I am married and have grandchildren so working of nights and weekends is something I cannot do. he looked at me and said you have grandchildren, yes two. He said you can’t be old enough to have grandchildren, how old do you think I am, he said 40 at the most. He had a funny look when I told him I would be 52 this month. They said they understood, was very nice about then I told them I was not to sure about that red tire. They had a puzzled look until I told them my husband and I cannot stand a big fat orange headed bastard who also wears a red tie. They smiled and I thanked them for the job offer.
Told my husband about it and said want to go up there in a couple of weeks and have a drink, if nothing else to check out the bartender to see what they got.

Definitely an interesting proposition if you were single.
Will be interested to hear your impressions if you do go up and check it out.
