Summer Is Moving Along

It is so hard to believe that it is soon to be September, football season is here and fall just around the corner. My garden has pretty much been reduced to tomatoes and cucumbers but the neighbors are happy with anything that I take them. My personal watermelons have not done as well as I wished with most getting about the size of a baseball, stems turning yellow and dying. My baby pumpkins should produce enough to keep my grandkids happy and still have some to give away.

Still cannot get enough help at the sports bar so I went in last Sunday to tend bar, knew it was going to be hectic when I saw couples claiming their patio tables before we opened. Then to make it worse the girl who was to help me behind the bar did not show up, never made so many bloody Mary’s and mimosa’s in my life. The breakfast crowd kept us busy until about 2, after that we had 4 fantasy football leagues do their drafts. Appys and beer for them. Long day but I enjoyed it. Hubby came in about 5, had a drink then whispered in my ear he was going to take me home and fuck my brains out. PROMISE? Well he did.

Then last Thursday I showed up for work and did I ever get a surprise as the owner was waiting when I got there. He showed me a review of our bar on Yelp to which some couple from Charleston had gave us a very glowing 5 stars. I had waited on them as they sat at the bar, recommended a bourbon for him and made her a Bloody Mary which she said was the best she ever had, so I told her exactly what we use. They wanted to know what the best appetizer we had was so I suggested fried green tomatoes or banana peppers to which they ordered both. Then they split a rueben with onion rings. yes I remember them because they left me a 20$ tip. Still wants me to work full time but no way I would ever last.

Life is going on, he is going to several football games this year after missing last year, his mom and dad are coming up from Florida so it should be good for him. As for me well I have a few weekends planned with a special little friend.

As I said, fall is coming
