Mainly so I don't have to constantly repeat what's going on:
Friday, April 9, I hurt my right knee while at Crossfit. It has been really uncomfortable, swollen inside the joint, and my range of motion is decreased. I went to the VA doctor (a general practitioner) on Friday, April 16. She could see immediately that it was swollen, and while she said it didn't seem unstable, she advised me to continue to ice it, rest and stay off of it as much as possible. She ordered x-rays and an MRI.
Now for some shock and awe: I called today, Monday, April 19, to schedule the MRI at the VA. The scheduler first warned me that they were booked solid until late May. But then he saw that someone cancelled, so I have an appointment for tomorrow, Tuesday, April 20, in the morning!!!
I really don't know what's going on with my knee, but the current suspicion is a tear somewhere. As I find out more, I'll update this blog post.
And yes, Doc is taking as good of care of me as he can considering the distance between us!
