Growing up my sisters and I were quite close, but with a couple of postings on Zity about red being the color of choice for enema bags got me to thinking. The late 60s and early 70s when we were kids was also the era when most kids wore rubber overshoes on stormy days. My sisters and I were no exception. Mine were the classic black buckle galoshes while each of my sisters had rainboots that slipped on over their shoes and were secured by a strap over the instep. Carol, my older sister, had a pair of white ones, but my younger sister had a pair of red. Emily, was also the sister who enjoyed being given enemas, but the color of her rainboots also was about the same color as the enema bag. I might add that Emily also enjoyed wearing those rainboots whether rain or shine.
