Got a distress call from my work friend. She was like I am feeling uneasy and have chest pain can you please come over.
She lives alone and is very scared of doctors. When she had breast pain once earlier she came crying to my house.
For a moment I was shocked. I calmed her down and told my parents. Dad said it wasn't a good idea to go alone so he called the ambulance at her address and dad and I went all geared up. When we reached I wanted to ask her what was wrong I realised the ambulance staff had already reached and were getting ready to put her in the ambulance so I decided not to disturb them.
I went with her in the ambulance.
To my surprise the nurse cut her top and bra off (like I had seen in one medical series I don't remember)
Honestly it felt weird seeing her bare chested like this. Dr sethed her a few times
But when we reached hospital they took her to the emergency asking me to stay out but she wanted me in (as expected) while Dad stayed out
There a lady dr stethed her thoroughly took pulse BP and pulse was taken from legs and neck too (that's when I realised the thoroughness of the exam)
Dr did a quick ECG luckily that was ok and also did a normal blood test.
What surprised me was the answer to the next question by the Dr.
She was on a 'diet" and was just having 2 glasses of lemonade and 1 apple a day since last 1 month to lose weight and she had lost about 22 pounds during this period
I mean who does that. I wanted to scold her but realised this wasn't the right spot
Hearing that Dr called for gastro who thoroughly examined her abdomen and also got an abdominal ultrasound done. Again with me next to her. Dr wanted to be sure there wasn't any damage to her internal abdominal organs.
After that she was again taken inside the emergency and put on saline drip. This time she let me stay out. She may have realised I don't have any place to sit.
Dr had a doubt that her blood indicators will be low. They were but she didn't require blood thankfully. That's when Dr assured that this uneasiness will settle. This was just due to extrmely low energy. Dr kept her under observation for 2 hours while we sat outside.
Luckily things got normal. So after around 5 hours and one final check up later she was discharged and then on the way home in our car I scolded her a little for her misadventure. But I am happy she is fine now.
After dropping her home and making her comfortable we reached our home. And as expected being a medfetter I had a long shower replaying the whole hospital scene this time strangely imagining myself as the doctor.
