I grew up receiving enemas, suppositories and rectal temps. I had chronic constipation growing up and mom used enemas as a remedy. Suppositories were used when I was sick as a preventative measure. If I didn't have a bowel movement on the third day mom would administer a glycerin suppository.
Looking at the amount of websites that sell enema equipment I think there are more ladies out there that enjoy enemas but won't admit it. I still take enemas and occasionally a suppository especially if I am traveling. I enjoy the feeling of an empty bowel. I think of the many times over mom's lap receiving an enema. I always felt a little embarrassed and at the same time a little turned on when mom spread my cheek and slowly slide the tube into my rectum. Mom always took her time giving enemas and suppositories which were always very effective.
People today would probably say that mom abused me but during the 50's and 60's giving enemas to children was regarded as normal. My enemas were never painful and mom helped with other things like homework. She was very loving and took very good care of me and my sisters.
