So had some thoughts pop up in my head today, growing up from the late 70ties to now it seems that the music we hear now is just not the same as years ago. When I was growing up you knew the difference from Oldies, Pop, Rock, and Country. Take Country for example , back then Country was Country, not the crap that is put out as country today , I cant even listen to it . It sounds like Pop music not even disguised very well as country. I mean, I listened to all the greats , Twitty, Jones, Haggard, to name a few , the true country legends , Cash, Nelson, Parton, Mandrel, they sang country , some crossed over I give you that but they didnt make themselves be something they werent . Pop music had Huey Lewis and News , INXS, good sounding groups and singers who most wrote their own songs . As far as Rock, Van Halen, Leppard, Priest, Maiden, again some crossed over but many didnt sellout. Couple good Rap groups, Run DMC, Ice T, not the crap you have now . You know I get it , the music industry is what it is , make a buck are whatever the cost. Some of this new crap they pass off as music , its just one big karaoke contest, no one writes their own stuff anymore . The music doesnt fit the vocals, you get that with a lot of R N B songs now , vocals go one way and the music goes the other . Sounds like crap. At this point I truely believe you cant have an original sound anymore , every thing has been done , and you will never have it back. Technology has a lot to blame for this as well, producers can make anyone sound good , at least till you try to sing live . Ever notice how most acts touring are older acts , who can number 1 sing, 2 actaully play their instruments, and 3 have thier own material. Call me old fashioned, or a stuck up ass , but most of all , give me a reason , a credible reason that I am wrong , go ahead , I dare you to do it , post in comments and lets see whos in the wrong here . Good Day .
