He Knows What I Like!
One of the nicest things about being married to your very best friend is that they instinctively know the things you like and find ways to treat you to those very things.
As is known by my avatar, I’m a shoe freak! There, I’ve said it...and make no apologies!
For whatever reason, I have loved shoes all my life. Even as a child, I loved shoes and would rather wear them than go barefoot, which is antithetical to most children. Through my teen years I worked after school and weekends in a neighborhood drugstore just so I could satisfy my love for shoes. My closet overflowed with Pappagallo flats and pumps in every conceivable color.
In college, I was known throughout my dorm for my shoes and the sheer number that resided in that little cubby hole they called a closet. When I got my own apartment after graduation, I was delighted with the walk-in closet and all the space I had. At one point, I had four times the number of shoes as I had to dresses and skirts.
I was and still remain...hopeless!
And the truth be told, hubby is an enabler of the highest order. After a grueling workload this past spring, he remarked at how much he admired my work ethic and desire for perfection. That was a nice compliment and I appreciated it more than anything. But without my knowledge, he decided to reward me with a new pair of shoes that I had been wanting, but never dared to buy.
So the FedEx truck pulled up in front of our house yesterday with a package addressed to hubby that required a signature. I wasn’t expecting anything so I was surprised when I looked at the return address and it was Saks Fifth Avenue. My mind raced through every conceivable scenario. What had he ordered from Saks???
After he returned from running a few errands, he lit up like a Christmas tree when he saw the box. He casually offered his pocket knife to me and invited me to open it. I didn’t wait for the second invitation...curiosity was killing me!
As I peeled the box lid open, I saw the familiar brown box and the white script name “Louboutin”. My heart nearly stopped. I hurriedly opened the box to find the most gorgeous pair of black pumps that I had been wanting for months.
With tears streaming down my cheeks and the new shoes on my feet, my arms found their way around hubby’s neck and as big a bear hug as I can muster enveloped my soulmate.
A wonderful act of love and kindness from the most wonderful person in the world!

@Gynedoll, I call those shoes my "car to table shoes"! While they are absolutely gorgeous, they are not all that comfy. I have no idea why I wanted a heel that is so high (it's about 122 mm in my size 9) but they are sexy...no doubt about it. I may decide that "car to table" is a bit much...they may become "closet to bed"!

As a senior guy I really like leather boat shoes with rubber soles. Great on boats and there are lots of boats here in Florida. Have your husband try a pair, very comfortable!!!

Dr. Kinky, these are 120mm heels which works out to be about 4.75 inches. Trust me, they are what I call "car to table" shoes....they are comfortable from the car to the table!!!

You can bet hubby will get to see these shoes "up close and personal" in either the bedroom or the bathrooom...whichever comes first!!

Those are pretty shoes! Are those 6" heels? It would be nice to see you standing in them.
I love to wear heels too. I have a pair of 4" black patent leather pointed toe pumps. I want my next pair to be Rasberry colored.

The best part is that eventually you will get to wear them when you are not in bed!
