This is the last post I intend to share about my first wife and my riskiest outdoor sex experience is summed up for me by one word...Hawaii. Where didn't we have risky outdoor sex? As I reviewed the photos from that trip, I realized that most days with outdoor sex on the islands, my wife was wearing the same shirt and shorts. I don't remember that as signal for outdoor sex, but it is an interesting coincidence.
But there are two places in particular that are examples; one was on Molokai and the other was on Oahu.
Molokai wasn't such a popular island at the time and still is one of the least visited of the major islands. As part of our three weeks in Hawaii, Molokai was a nice break from the hustle and bustle of some areas of the other islands. We were touring on our own so we didn't have a set schedule with regard to tours. One thing was clear from our travels; once you got away from the more public tour areas, there were lots of naked people.
We went to Ka Ule o Nanahoa at Pala'au State Park or more simply the phallic rock of Molokai. It was a warm day with high overcast. Because we were in Hawaii after school had started, the summer tourism crowd was gone and it was a weekday. And things were very quiet on Molokai. We were staying in a wonderful hotel there with excellent sunset views and great hospitality. It was as if we had much of the island to ourselves.
Anyway, we took the short (but steep drive) up to the parking area. As I recall, at the time, there were relatively few amenities other than a parking area and a few directional signs. The path through the ironwood trees were a soft and narrow trail to the overlook and to the phallic rock. There was a sign that explained the legend of the phallic rock at the beginning of the trail and the rock was in a bit of an open area among the ironwoods.
The basic legend is that if a woman brought an offering and spent the night on the rock, she'd return pregnant. We were "practicing" for pregnancy during this trip, though to be honest, if my wife had become pregnant during this trip, it wouldn't have been a problem. We were all alone, but we didn't get totally naked in the event that we saw or heard other visitors approaching. There was more danger at the overlook because it was an easy fall of more than 1000 feet if you took the wrong step.
The more dangerous outdoor sex came on Oahu. You can't go here anymore (and if you do, the fine is very hefty). In our tourbook about Oahu was the mention of a short hike from a parking area to the Sacred Falls. We turned off the highway into a grassy parking area. There was a dirt road beyond a chain gate, but the chain was locked closed. The tourbook indicated that it was about a mile hike from the parking area to the falls. So, we set off down the dirt road. Eventually, we came to the true trailhead and parking area mentioned in the book.
There were warning signs about flash floods and rockslides and it was a hike up a narrow valley. It wasn't the rainy season but one still needed to be mindful of a sudden rise in water level because of rain further upstream. Finally, after hiking up the stream more than 2.5 miles, we reached the waterfall and the pool below the falls. There was another (naked) couple among the rocks. We said hello and proceeded move towards the pool to take a few pictures of the falls and the pool. While we realized we had walked up on them, we (according to them) hadn't interrupted anything. We chatted with them for a few minutes and they decided that it was time for them to head back to their car. They both walked back down the stream and trail naked (like I said lots of naked people on the islands). We had the falls and the pool to ourselves. We stripped out of our clothes, I took a couple of photos of my wife with the falls and pool in the background, and then we swam out into the pool together.
Although we had made love before leaving to go to the Byodo-In Buddhist temple that morning (a very peaceful place, I might add), being nude in the cool water together after a long, hot hike got both of us "hot" very quickly. If you've read the other entries on outdoor sex, you know that she and I loved to get naked with each other in those days. We made love in the water and it didn't take either of us very long to cum. Here we were in this paradise setting, two people living a dream. Let me say it was more difficult to make love in the water even though she was nearly weightless in the water. Our natural lubrication was easily washed away. After cumming in her, we walked out of the pool and allowed ourselves to relax on the rocks and air and sun dry together. We weren't quite done and we made love among the rocks. Finally, we decided we needed to get ourselves together for the long trek out and back to our car. We got back to our car and went back to the hotel to shower and prepare for dinner. That evening, we made love once again acknowledging that it was one of the best days we has had on the islands (and there were many good days).
It was another in a series of outdoor sex experiences unlike any other.
The danger was more than just flash floods. The rockslide danger was very real and a number of years later on Mother's Day 1999, a rockslide occurred at the pool and it killed and injured a number of people. The park has been permanently closed.
