We're back at the lake cottage after doing a quick trip down home to just make sure everything there was OK. It is really feeling like fall as people are already wearing coats. We went to an outdoor concert at a winery on Thursday and it was downright chilly. It had rained earlier in the day and the grounds of the winery were likely going to be wet so I wore heavy socks, my wellies, and a parka. Sounds really nutty for late August, but I was happy that I wore what I did. What's more, I was not the only one so dressed.
We'll be heading back home in about a week which always makes me sad to see summer officially end. The cottage is such a special place for a whole bunch of reasons, not the least of which is that is where I keep my enema can. Don't get me wrong, an enema from a bag is just as effective plus you get that nostalgic rubber smell with it, but the retro look of the can in the rustic surroundings of the cottage is just plain fun. But knowing that we'll be back in mid-fall makes for the cottage being a special place.
