In the comments of a previous posting (https://www.zity.biz/index.php?mx=blog;ox=showpage;pg=3974) it was pointed out by mornglory that a same-day procedure prior to a colonoscopy was being marketed under the name of HyGIeaCare. It appears to be an open system colonic and requires none of the nasty prep or nearly as much diet restrictions. I'm sure it will have a medical class price attached to it when a traditional colonic is less than $100 about everywhere I've ever had one.
This brought to mind the occasion of one of my closed system colonics, nearly 10 years ago, when I had just had my previous colonoscopy. The hydro-therapist stated that some doctors were starting to look at colonics as a way to get a clean bowel. She was on the cutting edge of the trend. I wished she was still practicing so I could have visited her prior to my most recent colonoscopy. It would have been something to look forward to instead of dread.
Barring that, next time I will definitely be doing my own added regime of a few extra bowel irrigations prior to leaving the house. Doc will rave about how clean my colon is after that! The only question will be do I fess up or let him think the prep was that good?
Anyone have experience with colonics before colonoscopy? How about thoughts on pre-scope enemas?
