Hi Again

Today is my birthday and I've just turned 54. That's really hard to believe because there was ta time when I thought that would be really old. It has been nearly a year since I had my last period and I think I'm getting used to the idea now, but it did take a while. I know it sounds odd, but at first I sort of missed having it and because my husband and I have enjoyed menstrual sex for so many years it was also like being deprived. There are posts on here where both men and women discuss the topic with both pros and cons, but in our marriage if we were in the mood we'd do it. So for people our age it more or less comes down to what can we do to keep that spark alive and to make sure that he keeps amply supplied at home and not wanting to look elsewhere. For me as the wife that means doing things to keep my husband interested when admittedly the libido is operating at lower levels.

For me it means that I need to keep going to the gym and looking good for him whether I'm clothed or not. Some things sag no matter how hard you exercise and I can accept that. The other is to be a tease whenever I can. We've taken to having sex in lots of other places than our bed and at lots of other times than at night. Our lake cottage has been a real plus that way because it's cozy, quiet, and a different venue. Now that the weather is warmer outdoor sex has been a great opportunity and if you haven't read the postings elsewhere on zity, there are lots of great ideas worth trying.

Aside from that my daughter's upcoming wedding is taking up a lot of my time and I have to say that I'm enjoying every minute of it without becoming an overbearing mother of the bride. Things seemed to have gotten more complex than when we got married and along the way much more expensive. I think the prices of her dress alone would have paid for much of our reception. We only had one limo, but they want three. My husband just keeps writing checks, but I warn him that he's far from done. Lots to talk about on this subject, so hopefully I'll be back again soon.
