Bringing it all (bang!) up to date - Part 2
More bumps on my path. On 8th August, having got progressively more unreliable since the water incident, my laptop finally refused to turn on altogether. Panic set in - I had emails and PMs I needed to respond to! ZA (Zity Addict) brain overruled common sense and I headed straight to my library. Nooooo! Logging on to Zity in a public library is not an experience I would care to repeat now, but to my befuddled ZA brain it seemed eminently sensible. So much so that I went down again that evening to see whether I had any replies to the emails/PMs I had sent earlier - and this only 2 hours short of borrowing my nephew's spare laptop to see me through until I could purchase a replacement.
I say 'my' laptop, but the old one belonged to my late husband (R) - a fact which only added to my emotional response to its demise. Over the next day or two I struggled to get used to nephew's laptop (running Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 9 as opposed to XP and IE8 on R's). But that struggle stood me in good stead when my brand spanking new laptop arrived on August 15th - It too was running Windows 7, and while intially was running the more familiar IE8, within a couple of days it went into auto-upgrade mode and installed IE9. At the time of writing I am still considering whether to revert to IE8. It took me a day or so to transfer files from my old laptop (which was - fortunately - still continuing to function albeit somewhat sporadically), and 'clean' nephew's laptop, before I was ready to hand it back to him.
In the middle of all that, on the Friday after my public library experience I decided to go out in my car wearing my butt plug (a first), but sadly it was not to be. I got in the front passenger side as usual and folded my wheelchair, ready for stowing behind the front passenger seat after I slid across to the driver's seat. So far so good, but that unfortunately is as good as it got. First problem was that while sliding across to the drivers seat, somewhere around the 'getting across the parking brake' bit - always a little tricky - I 'lost' the buttplug. Yes - I still knew exactly where it was, but while it was still inside my clothing, it was unfortunately no longer inside me! Having 'retrieved' it using a tissue and deposited it in the drivers side door pocket I sighed and proceeded to get my chair in - or at least I tried to, for that is when problem number two struck.
In order to get my wheelchair in, I need to slide the passenger seat all the way forward and tilt the seat forward. Well, the first part of the operation went smoothly as usual, but when it came to trying to tilt the seat forward it just would not budge, no movement at all zip, nada, nothing doing. I was just experimenting with sliding the seat right back and putting my wheelchair on it, when along comes a friend of mine. He helps me out by taking my wheelchair out - if I can't get my chair in, I can't go anywhere.
Thinking extremely swiftly, and realising I was going to have to call my local garage and get them to pick the car up and fix the seat tilt mechanism, so not wanting to leave buttplug in car, I quickly secreted it in my hand, and tranferred it to my rucksack - all while my friend was busy getting my wheelchair out. Phew! Panic over. It's a good thing I thought to do that too, as the garage were down to pick my car up within the half hour. Having them find a buttplug in my car when I've been a customer of theirs for over 25 years would have been sooo embarrassing. Haven't tried going out by car wearing my buttplug since...
Jumping forward a week from the buttplug incident. On Thursday 16th August I was challenged by Elizabeth2010 to stay out of Zity for 24 hours (Kinda cold turkey for Zity Addicts). I logged out at 7.23pm - had I known that was going to be the day I would have logged out much earlier. We had been chatting for a couple of hours at the time when I logged out - all that time wasted, and I had only been logged in to Zity for half an hour when we started chatting too!
At least my kinky lifestyle kept me busy the following morning. I had to go out to pick up a parcel from the sorting office, my new bulb enema. They had tried to deliver it Thursday morning, while I was out...
buying disposable incontinence sheets...
to use with the bulb enema!
While out I also bought a large enough quantity of fresh food that I had to clear the fridge out to have somewhere to put it all. The rest of the day I spent writing the intro and page one of my blog, and trying to finish part 3 of my story (SMR&RF). So busy was I doing this that I hardly even noticed when 7.23pm came and went, so did not log back in until 7.44pm. A relatively easy challenge.
This weekend will be tougher. My sister is coming to stay Friday 10 pm until Sunday 10 am, so unless I want to tell her about my kinky lifestyle (Noooo!) I will be off both Zity and YIM for 36 hours. For the best of reasons though - one, I don't see her often, she lives nearly 200 miles away, two, we are going to the Paralympics together. 😄
