Naughty Jansatin
Is it really 6 months since I added anything to my Blog?
Yes it is!
Work has been insanely busy and I just havn't had the time to sit down and write anything.
In fact I havn't even been online much for the past few months.
There has been really nothing to write about that's of much interest so I suppose that's a partial excuse but I really should have not neglected the blog for so long.
There havn't been any parties to report on but there is one coming up soon so I will report after it.
Hubby has bought some new toys as he has been away a couple of times but they were disappointing compared to the ones we already had.
He is of to Amsterdam in September for a week so he might have more luck finding new ones there.
Work has been involved with a new series for one of the networks here, a series that's in reality a talent quest like X Factor or the voice but instead of being shot in a studio it's all on location in the Australian outback and is in the style of the movie "Priscilla Queen of the Desert".
If you never have seen the movie it's about the travels of a group of female impersonator "Drag Queens" travelling in a dilapidated old bus giving performances in tiny outback towns where the population are really rugged types who don't quite know what to make of the performers. the movie has I know been released on DVD in the US and is worth a look if you havn't seen it.
In the new show the entrants have to dress in Drag and perform to audience in similar towns.
The reactions of some of the gowns that the contestants have to wear is very funny as most of them are ablolutely straight.
The looks from the audience to the flamboyantly dressed contestants is priceless and has been lots of fun to shoot.
The series is now in post production editing and will go to air here after the Olympics finish.
I suppose it will eventually get to be shown on cable overseas.
We have only had a couple of disasters here in the past months, a car ran into me on the way to work as the other driver got impatient and did a U turn on a major road and collected me on the way. I was going the other way under the speed limit but when he did the ilegal turn it pushed me off the road into the bush and I hit a huge rock with my car.
The car has been repaired and I was not injured other than a sprained knee and wrist which are now OK.
The other one was a tree in our front yard blew down in high winds over the street outside so was a pain to cut up and clear the street.Fortunately no damage done but when I look at a couple of other huge gum trees in neighboring properties I wonder whic one is going to be the first to come down and do real damage as they are all much closer to houses.
Till next time........
