This is something I don't usually do is blog and so this is my first one ever here which is like 13 years ago when I joined. I have been chilling most of the day as it was a long week for me which is not unusual, but I do have things to do around here but it is a fuck it day. I might sound like I am rambling but again, fuck it... Coming up on 8 years I have lived in this house, it was around this time of year when my girlfriend at the time, now my wife, were driving around looking at houses as we had decided on this area to live as it was a compromise. She lived and worked in Chambersburg, PA, and I worked all over Northern Virginia and was living in Fairfax at the time, a long distance relationship that started in summer of 2005. At the time the asking price for the house was more than I was willing to pay, we both noticed a fawn laying down under a low tree in the shade trying to stay hidden. Both my wife and I have ADD, but not the exact same issues, but we both spot things most people will miss(people who designed the MMPI-2, you need to rethink certain questions on that test about seeing things other people don't). Both my wife and I love animals, given I lived alone, worked long hours and taking care of parents, having an animal(s) would have been unfair to the animal(s). After buying the house, I soon discovered deer herds like passing through and even bedding down at night on my land. I have alot of wild life in the area, all sorts of birds, snakes, and other assorted mammals, it is a long list. My wife missed her Ruddy, a miniature collie she had to give up when she moved out of the house she was in into a small house(the size of a 2 car garage and could not have pets. Well she wanted another dog now, 1 dog, she wanted a big dog but someone she knew had some miniature pinchers that were rescued by the breeder of the 2 dogs. My wife was unsure of me as it was suppose to be one dog, but it turned out it was 2 brothers from the same litter who had never been separated. I wasn't about to separate them, that would be unfair at that point since they had been together for around 5 years. It was real challenge at first as they had been neglected, long story, but slowly they adjusted to us. Then one day a stray cat turned up, it was hanging around, no collar, my wife thought it was a feral cat, and I said it wasn't. My wife loves to argue with me, even when I am right, need to beat her ass more often. Turned out the next door neighbor, category West Virginia Stupid as I call it, they tried turning this cat into a barnyard cat. Well I knew the cat wasn't feral, I would feed it and was very loving to a point as it got used to us and the dogs. My wife worries about things and says things without proof, yeah I know, she needs her butt beat more often. I was right, it was a house cat that someone abandoned in the area and was fending for itself. You ask how I know, well she had been declawed in front and neutered as she did not go into heat. The cat and the dogs got along, no fur flying, no eyes scratched out, seems min pins get along with cats. Well I had named the cat Lena and she died after 3 years, we had no clue as to how old she was, she died when we were on vacation, so when I got home, I buried her in the front yard. One of my pet peeves, pardon any puns, she doesn't listen to the animals and see and detect things the way I do. One of our friends who is good with animals made the comment on more than one occasion, the dogs are mine as how they respond to me, and same with the cat we had. Now my wife wanted another animal, a cat, so we wound up with a kitten someone gave us that showed up at there mom's car, the second kitten to do so, weird and long story. Anyway, the kitten was like 3 months old when we got her, a black and white Manx cat, for those that don't know, they don't have tails and no, it was not cut off, it is a breed of cat. Well again, seems the cat wants my attention and me to play with her, yes, a female, learned what it is to have a cat in heat, even a kitten. She got fixed as soon as we could get that arraigned so there would be quiet in the house. So we have a bit of shoe fetish, didn't know shoe fetishes crossed over in the animal kingdom. We also like ice cubes, she hears the fridge dispensing ice cubes and she comes running, she like playing with them. She also likes picking them up and putting them inside of shoes and if not paying attention, a bit of a shocker when one puts there foot inside to find a very wet spot. Right now she is banned from the bedroom at night, she used to sleep on a chair or in bed at night, now she likes clawing at the box spring under the bed when people want to sleep. Wonder if she will outgrow that or what to do about that bad habit. She also likes crawling up into my lap and sleep while I am on the laptop or wants to play and prevent me from typing. Oh and before I finish this, I have so many deer with there fawns on my property it is just amazing to watch them, the other night when I came home, there were 2 doe's and 4 fawns outside my front door grazing. About half the deer that come around my house know me, and don't run off, when I am cutting grass, they just keep on grazing. I started naming some of the deer that I saw on a repeated basis and my wife was a bit annoyed at that, she didn't like the names of Peaches and Daisy.
