The Doc was definitely unique, a local institution. He had finished his doctorate, opening up a dual practice with a classmate. That lasted about 20 years, until he developed some issues, and retired.

Native to West Teennesse, he met his wife while in school, she pursuing a Social Work degree, and he his Medical. They married just after he finished, and opened the practice soon after.

Now, they have two adult children, and five grandkids. A volunteer for school athletics and church activities, he guesses he's seen most of the town in some sort of semi clothed position. He sees the lab tech entering the room where he's gonna do a physical, turns into the offices and starts returning phone calls.
