It was a cold, rainy day as Naomi Williams and her four college friends walked through the downtown industrial estate next to the University teaching hospital on their way to the clinic of Dr. William Schiffman accompanied by the three parent helpers who had been present during their rather humiliating physical examinations the previous day in the college hall. All five girls along with the three parent helpers who were accompanying them crossed the road to the building which housed the clinic.

"Get a move on! Naomi, quicker!", admonished Mrs. Akers as Naomi was momentarily distracted by a gust of wind blowing up her pleated skirt exposing her lacy black knickers, something which attracted cheers from a couple of builders working on the building site on the opposite side of the road. As the visit to the clinic was taking place on a normal college day, Miss. Beech had insisted that the girls' wear full uniform on the premise that they were representing the college.

"Are you wanting another detention, young lady? And look at those shoes!", Mrs. Akers admonished Naomi, pointing to the scuff mark on the end of Naomi's black Mary Jane shoe.

"That's awful young lady! You can clean that off when we get in the clinic!", added Mrs. Farraday as the five girls and three parent helpers walked into the building which housed Dr. Schiffman's clinic.

"Stoddart's college, these five", said Mrs. Farraday as she checked in with the receptionist.
