A few last wishes

Part 58

"Excuse me, hi, are you Mrs. Anderson? I believe Mrs. Armstrong pointed you out. Your boy, Eric, is a sweetheart. I noticed you left section on the form family care physician blank."

"Yes, we have decided to switch doctors. His physician who we are switching from is Dr. Sharma, his new physician hasn't been finalized yet."

"That is no problem (mumbles under her breath-looks like she lost another one)."

Luckily Claire goes unnoticed as Laura moves to exit once Eric is asleep. Gary moves in before she can leave, " Ugh uh. Are you Julie's mom? I am so sorry about what happened."

Laura smiles and shakes his hand, "Yes, I am thank you."

"Do you know where Katie is by any chance? Laura nods. "Can you take me to her? She won't yell as much if you walk with me."

"Gary, what the hell? Why did it take you 4 hours to get here?"

"Ugh, Ummmmm. I went to four other hospitals first."

"Gary, I texted you the name of the hospital and the room number."

"I ugh, ummm forgot... The hospital, not the room number. I remembered the room number.

"Gary, that is why you take the phone with you."

"Ummm, but I can't take my phone with me because I get dizzy looking at it riding in cars."

"Then wait until you stop and look!"

"Ummm, Katie, I'm gonna sit next to that guy. He looks alot less angry."

"Gary, that is Hank, Julia's father, he is upset right now and probably doesn't want to talk."

Gary looks at Katie and then Hank and then Katie again, "Ugh, I'll take my chances."

Laura covers her mouth to hide her chuckle from Katie as she sits down again, "So is Gary your ex?"

"Actually we are still married, I just won't live with him."

Gary extends his hand. " hehhhh. Hey Hank, I am Gary. I am so sorry about what happened to your daughter. She is such a beautiful woman."

Hank lightly shakes Gary's hand but won't look up.

"Uhh, You know, Hank, I feel so lucky to have a son. Men who have pretty daughters live through a God damn nightmare. We grow up with all these images in our head about pretty women and girl's fathers see all these creepy little pig boys looking them up and down all day long. Hank, thank you for not accidentally beating Eric to death."

Hank looks up with a tear in his eyes and gives a half a chuckle, "Well, no problem, Gary. Could you do me a favor and tell your wife I am sorry for angry things I said about your son? I'd really appreciate that."

Gary gets up right away and walks over to Katie, "Hank feels really terrible about mean things he said to you about Eric. Katie, I think you should forgive him. I love Eric more than anybody, but all teenage boys are disgusting pigs. If Hank called Eric a gross pig I think we should just accept he was right and forgive him."

Katie and Laura laugh and look at eachother lovingly, "Actually, Gary that is exactly what happened. Gary called him a filthy pig and I got to talking with Laura and found out it was true and now I am alot less angry and I do forgive him."

"Heh...Then why don't you just go over there and give him a hug and let him know everything is fine?"
