A few last wishes
Part 56
L, O, I am Claire Magullen. They sent me from the agency fur a Mr. Eric Anderson. I beg your pardon, but I peeked in his room a wee bit agooo and this is gonna sound a might bit odd, but he looks quite a bit like me ex fiance and as you can imagine I dooon't feel comfortable harting his feelings. Would you be a Dear, and have one his narses knoow I can't be his private narse or physical therapist?
"Actually, I am his nurse and no I will not be telling him that. He is a really sweet boy and is going through a nightmare right now. He is dying of cancer and just saved his girlfriend from drowning after a car accident and she is in a coma. If you need to explain you are triggered by your ex you are going to have to explain that to him yourself. Buh bye now."
Eric's nurse is a second generation Mexican-American beauty. She has advanced nursing degrees and immediately felt charmed by Eric despite his gloomy demeanor and uncooperativeness as a patient, "Hello, Eric, it's Gina again. I need to open the back of your gown again to make sure you haven't popped out anymore stitches. Is that your Mom? Do you feel comfortable with her staying while I examine you?"
Eric dries his eyes, "Actually, I would feel uncomfortable if my mom was here, but she is my girlfriend's mom and I feel safe with her here if she doesn't mind staying."
Gina draws the privacy curtain, "That is so sweet you get along so well, my boyfriend's mother and I are usually at eachother's throats, especially around the holidays. Eric, if you don't mind me asking how exactly did you crack your pelvis and scratch your hip so badly? I understand the water in the lungs was from your diving in the lake to save your girlfriend."
"I had to use an ax to break the second story window and I landed a little harder than I wanted to. I was scared I didn't have enough time to run downstairs and go outside. Gina looks up at his stitches and then Laura. Laura lovingly wipes tears from his eyes."
"Now, Eric, your girlfriend is going to be asleep for quite a while and as I have told you before and I am sure your girlfriend and her mother agree with me as well, you need to let me give you some medicine to help you sleep. You are in alot of pain and as much as I love seeing your beautiful face awake we can't have you rolling around in pain popping out stitches."
Laura smiles warmly, "Eric hates shots. Eric, it will be fine, I'll hold your hand." Gina rushes out of the room to fetch the medicine before Eric can object again.
"Mrs. Armstrong how did you know I hate shots?"
"A pretty little bird told me."
