Julia and Eric had a beautiful night of sleep together, lots of cuddling, nuzzling and both had restorative rest, but the second Julia wakes up she feels gross and uncomfortable thinking about the day that awaits her.

Julia always hated having girl conversations at school. All the girls at school that knew she was into girls naturally assumed she had no shame or discomfort being intimately examined by a female healthcare worker, like she was some horny man from prison that had no ability to emotionally connect with anyone. Julia hates being touched intimately. Beth actually put in a lot of leg and emotional work to make Julia feel safe. It took a good two years for that to happen.

Julia can feel the irritability and disgust rising from her soul. She goes straight to the bathroom and locks the door wanting to avoid Eric the whole morning. Julia spends an hour washing and rewashing every nook and cranny. Then puts on sweatpants and T shirt. No make up and she puts her hair in a ponytail. She wants to make eye contact with NO ONE today.

Luckily, Eric passes by her and locks himself in the bathroom immediately after she leaves. If Julia was in a good mood she would find his behavior somewhat curious. Julia pours herself a bowl of cereal and researches her dreaded procedure. Once Eric exits the shower she sees out the corner of her eye he is huddled into the corner of the couch looking at his phone intensely.

Julia lets her curiosity get the best of her and sneaks up behind him and grabs his phone. He googled cancer patient and what to expect at late stage exams. Julia feels ashamed and gently places the phone back into his hand and pretends it didn't happen.

Julia goes back to eating her cereal. "Eric, are you scared about today's visit or something?"

Eric feels insecure almost like his masculinity is being challenged, "No, not scared. I just get grossed out going to the doctor. I know what you are facing is a thousand times more invasive. It's just I never know what she wants to do to me and she talks to me like a pathetic baby."

Julia perks up, "But your dad says you luuuuuv Dr. Sharma and you have all these naughty dreams about her."

"Of course my dad says that, he picked her out and he doesn't have to be baby-talked down to by her. The dreams are a coping mechanism to resolve my being treated like an incredibly stupid baby."

Julia pauses her chewing, "So you didn't enjoy the dream at the swimming pool being inspected by Dr. Sharma?"

"I enjoyed the feeling knowing other boys were there suffering through the same thing, it made me feel normal. I liked Barbara Starr was there and other girls were watching, that was pretty exhilarating and naughty. I also felt empowered that I was one of the boys who passed the test, so to speak. The actual physical inspection and baby talking by Dr. Sharma was unpleasant. It wasn't really bad like in real life but still kinda gross."

"What about your dream about Nurse and Doctor Julia was it gross?"

"Yes, but everything was reversed."

"Reversed how? What was reversed?"

"My dream felt terrifying and gross because I was in a dark room naked and circumcised. Doctor and Nurse Julia were my brain's way of coping with the dream."

"Oh...well did you want the rest of my cereal? I am not feeling very hungry."

"No thanks, me either. Do you think we need to bring you a heating pad for you afterwards? I would like to drive you home is there any comfort food you think would help?"

"My mom always gave me strawberry milkshake, malt or icecream afterward. Kinda her way of apologizing for the fact I was born with a female body."

The sick butterflies were still there for Julia as she is driving to her appointment, but her irritability is gone. She gives Eric a reassuring smile the whole way there. Eric walks into the waiting room receiving awkward stares from all the women. He focuses on the suspicious stares, even though most of them are warm and curious.

The receptionist finally calls out Julia's name and she takes Eric's hand and leads him back and they follow the nurse back to her room. The nurse runs through a barrage of questions and when she gets to sexual active Julia discloses she has only been with girls and the nurse tilts her head and rechecks the chart. The nurse points to the gown, "Put that on, you can keep your bra and socks on but make sure panties are off. Dr. Lily is running twenty minutes behind."

Julia wastes no time in stripping and Eric instinctively turns his back and Julia calls out to him as she opens the back of her gown, "Eric, speaking of a little behind, does this gown make my butt look big?"
