A few last wishes

Part 30

In Gary's mind, his involuntary love check of Julia's behind was incredibly fast and unnoticeable. Eric and his mom are shooting glances at eachother but decide to say nothing because Julia didn't react to the violation with so much as a flinch.

Julia maintains her sweet loving dimpled face as she pulls up a chair next to Gary, "Eric has told me so much about how you are such an amazing dad. He mentioned you have a photographic memory and it really helped him out having you there with him when he was learning to drive. He never had to worry about getting lost with you as his co-pilot."

"Hmmmm, errrer. Yeah, I don't drive. He's a good boy and takes me places. I like to do nice things for him whenever I can. I built him a computer and programmed it too for his birthday when he was 11 and I think that made him happy."

Eric and his mom smile lovingly at Julia as they appreciate her steering the conversation in a respectful kind manner.

"Mr. Anderson, I can tell Eric really loves you and appreciates everything you do for him. It's so easy to see just how much you two love eachother."

"Ummm, Julie, why are you calling me Mr. Anderson? My name is Gary and I really like you."

The room erupts in laughter and Gary joins in and Julia gently rubs his upper arm, "I'm sorry, Gary, force of habit, I really like you and Miss Kay T alot too!"

Gary rubs the center of his forehead, "Miss Kay T? Miss Kay T... Julie, Honey, have we met before?"

Julie smiles warmly and treats Gary to a lovely show of her magical appearing and disappearing dimples, "No, Gary, I am positive we have never met. I just became your son's girlfriend and I am certain if I saw your beautiful face before I would never forget it."

Gary makes the room erupt in laughter with his encore comedy, "Lord, Julie, I think you might need to get some glasses."

Julia and Katie then begin a long boring conversation about how warm loving bonds makes people so beautiful and Gary drifts into his memory bank for more amusing entertainment... Then a good one came to him. Actually a great one! "Jooolie. I remember you, I remember you! You were the little toddler at daycare and you called Katie, Miss Kay T!" Julia and Katie smile fondly and laugh at warm memories for a second. Then Gary lets the verbal excrement fly, "You used to run around and chase Eric, and point and laugh saying "Eri has a funny peepee" when he was first starting potty-training."

The room is now in awkward silence and Julia and Eric look at eachother and then Katie, her nervous lack of full eye contact and repositioning herself in her chair confirm Gary is accurate with his memory. Gary continues, "Ugh, well thank God Eric has a girlfriend and she doesn't care his penis looks funny. I told Katie when he was a baby, we live in the South, you have to let him have a normal penis or women will laugh at him his whole life. I was so right, Katie, and you still wouldn't listen. You kept crying, telling me you thought it was too painful and you would never hurt your baby like that."

Julia, Eric, and Katie look at eachother hoping someone has a magic verbal switch that can divert the conversation elsewhere. Gary continues needing the self-validation, "I was right about wanting to give Eric a normal penis and I was right about taking Eric to Dr. Char umm Charmin. She is a beautiful woman from India and has been all over the world. She was really nice to Eric when he had his physical and told him lots of boys around the world had funny penises and he shouldn't be embarrassed. She was really beautiful and didn't laugh at Eric. Julie, don't feel bad about laughing at his funny penis. Little kids are sometimes mean and don't realize it until someone explains feelings to them. Just try not to laugh at it now, ok, Julie?"

Julia redirects the conversation to Eric, "Dr. Sharma is a female?" Eric rubs his neck nervously.

Gary rejoins the conversation, "Her name means joy in her native language. I bet you didn't know that, Julie? She made me feel happy when I first met her because she was beautiful and I liked her accent."

Julia makes Gary smile, "No, I didn't know that, Gary. You are really smart. So Eric, does having a woman doctor make you happy? Do you feel joyful when you are around her?"
