My first cardiological exam

Chapter 5: On nurse office

At this moment I did not know why I was invited there 30 minutes before my appointment, especially if man was on waiting room too. I was in full suit in office, so nurse told me to take off my jacket and shirt and pull suit pants a bit to place electrodes on chest, arms and legs.

During ECG exam on nurse office, she immediately saw that I have increased heart rate. She asked me if I am nervous. I said that I am a bit nervous, because this is my first cardiological exam. I told her that I also have White Coat Syndrome. I was lying on couch for a few minutes and my heart did not want to slow below 125.

So she recorded ECG as it was and unhooked me from ECG machine. After unhooking she told me that she will measure my blood pressure.

I sat on chair and placed my arm on desk as asked. She placed cuff above my elbow and pumped it. She was a bit worried, because my blood pressure was around 170/90. After this, I reminded that I have WCS. She told me to dress and go to waiting room for doctor appointment.

After this, we were talking about my physicals on school and blood pressure measurements at home. She realised that I have severe white coat syndrome, because my usual blood pressure is around 110/55.
