Steven

2nd Part

As Steven and I got through high school we both did well in school and helped one another in our school work. The day did come where we both knew our days of childhood were coming to an end. We were about to go our own separate ways and each have different paths in our lives. Deep in each of us we knew these days when we were friends would never be forgotten. We knew all the great baseball players from Nolan Ryan to Mike Schmidt to Kirk Gibson. We knew all the great computer games which we somehow never could get to finish or win totally. Oh maybe there was an easy trick on how to beat Super Mario Bros. It was all fading away and we both knew it. I believe we both had a tear held up in us because we both knew there was no going back ever only in our memories. We started college and we both mostly went our separate ways until a day when I was deep into studies when look who drove up to my house. It was Steven we had not seen each other for a few years. We both were holding back tearing up because the memories from our youth were so sharp still but yet they were now just memories in time for us both. Each of us now in our early 20s. Me 21 and Steven 20 we were still those young boys in our souls. That playful joking like way we were as boys. I right away said to Steven come in the house. My mom was not home and would be out most of the day but she would of course not mind me having Steven over because she always liked Steven unlike many of my other friends from my high school days. So we went to my room to catch up on things going on in our lives. We got to the normal questions like how is school going and do you have a job or how is work. Mostly small talk. Naturally we both asked each other whether we had a girlfriend. We both said no that we were so busy with school work and work that there was no time to put into a girlfriend. When we were in my room I had sports center on the TV and Steven and I talked about the going ons in the baseball world. The baseball strike was one of the bigger topics then. They just got an agreement so we had a few things to chat about on this.

We both also grew up loving music. We both got hooked on the music of our childhoods. New Wave 1980s music. Steven liked seeing my 80s bands posters on my wall. Oingo Boingo and Thompson Twins and Erasure. Steven and I told each other what concerts we saw. I saw Erasure twice and Huey Lewis. He saw Oingo Boingo and Depeche Mode. Mainly we just sat and talked and reminisce about our days as great childhood friends. We talked about funny stories we remembered. I brought up when we played baseball at the park and he hit me with a pitch and I charged at him. We laughed and said yes our games got serious sometimes. Then I told him remember when one guy pulled your pants down. Steven said yes and that guy was a total jerk to me. I said yes but it was funny. Then Steven said you remember all of our toilet talk and recording our farts and playing them back. I said yes and we both laughed. Then we both remembered our fake Radio station and we acted like DJs as we recorded ourselves. All great memories. Steven and I continued to talk about our pool parties and sleep overs. Steven said remember my parents would go to bed early on Friday night and you and your brother and myself and my sister all acted like we were asleep and then when we knew my parents were in bed we got up and talked and played a few games of charades. Those were great days I said...
