After a few minutes sitting there in a gown and my underwear there was a knock at the door. A middle aged, thin, somewhat attractive doctor with a bubbly personality introduced herself and shook my hand. The first few minutes were spent talking about my health history which is pretty slim. Asking me about my lifestyle and asking about any concerns to which I had none.

She started off by looking at my eyes, up my nose and into my ears. Next was palpation of my jawline, neck, and shoulders. She grabbed her stethoscope from her neck asking if I mined dropping the gown off my shoulders, which I didn’t. She listened to my heart in a few places on my chest then moved to my back to listen to lung sounds. She then palpated my back and kidney areas before telling me I could put the gown back on and lay back. After lying back she asked if I could pull the gown up to my chest for her to push on my abdomen. Before I pulled the gown up she offered a drape to which I said I didn’t need as I still had my underwear on. She pressed on multiple areas of my abdomen starting under my ribs and working her way down to my waist band. She slipped her fingers slightly into my waistband before telling me she was going to check femoral pulses. She slid my waistband down slightly on each side to palpate pulses before telling me I could pull the gown back down. She then moved to my legs, moving them in different directions and palpating them. ( I was glad I left my underwear on at this point). I was caught off guard when she asked when my last testicle exam was, I told her it had been a few years. She said she’d like to check my genitals and with my family history of prostate issues she would like to do a prostate exam. I responded that was fine and I had never had one. I’m only in my mid 30’s and did not think they were common.

She then informed me that their office policy is to have another person in the room for intimate exams and asked if that would be okay. I told her that would be fine if necessary. I was starting to worry about getting an erection and already had that feeling coming from my penis.

She told me that she was going to step out and grab the assistant and asked me to remove my underwear and have a seat on the table again. She stepped out and I stepped down and removed my boxer briefs and the feeling of getting an erection was coming full steam. It had happened a couple times before when I had my genitals checked. I sat back down on the table and waited.
