I had been seeing a PA for the last few years annually. She was young, attractive, and great to talk to. She actually cared about concerns. But in all of the visits to her I was never even asked to remove my shirt. It was always a cursory exam with auscultation of the heart and lungs, palpation of the stomach, ordered labs and off you go. I received a letter saying she was moving to a different clinic and would be assigned a new provider. Not caring for anyone else there I decided to go elsewhere. I had heard good things about an MD about an hour from home and scheduled an appointment. It took a few months to get in. The next couple chapters will be a walk through of arrival to departure of the office with my new provider. It definitely was not the exam I had had the last few years.
